Vinted help

I looked into selling on vinted but I'm confused (doesn't take much) do I add posting on the price

ie selling something for £5 post £2 so I  sell for £7

Or do I not?

How do I get paid? Etc

I just generally don't understand it.

I'd it worth it iv tried selling of Facebook but seems alot of hit and miss and messing around and don't fancy eBay with all the fees.

Thanks

I thought Vinted charged fees as well.  Think you better check that out before you proceed!

Vinted is entirely different from eBay, there are no fees for the seller, the buyer pays them all so you need to set your prices to take that in account. In your example, list for £5 (actually I would probably go for £6 as Vinted pushes the idea of offers) and whatever offer you accept is what you get. Then buyer chooses a postage option based on your seller settings and you get sent a label which is pre paid.

Make sure you check which postage methods you can use, you just disable the ones you don’t want in your settings. When you list you are usually then given 3 options, small medium large, if you click on each it shows all the couriers and their size/weight limits, make sure you choose the correct size as that is the label you will be sent.

I disabled Royal Mail purely because it was the only non integrated service, so when I used it I was reliant on buyer confirming receipt. Royal Mail is also the only option where you get paid the money and don’t get a label . All the other options like Evri and Yodel are integrated , the label is paid for by the buyer, you just print it off and send. When tracking shows delivered buyer has 2 days to raise a complaint, if they don’t then the money is placed as available. You can then withdraw your available balance to your bank (just like eBay you will need to confirm your bank details and will also need to verify with a passport or driving license once you reach about £500 ).

the Vinted tracking is often rubbish though, so watch your sales and if something doesn’t show as sent wait until you get the red warning that item is overdue and in there you can mark it as sent. They also use fairly slow options, whilst I’ve had stuff arrive in 2 days I’m also still waiting for something from the 11th December to be delivered- and once you withdraw it to your bank it can take 3-4 days to arrive.

Sales are quite good there though, I’ve been quite pleased with some of the things I’ve managed to sell. However their categories are limited , it’s basically clothes, toys , jewellery etc and a few household type items.

Thanks for that detailed response Soolin, very helpful, I may give vinted a go for some of my decent clothing that isn’t moving on eBay.
  • No fees, just advertise at the price you want to get. The buyer pays for postage.
