Not sure how OVOs accounts work but could they have returned £67 to you?Barnsley, South Yorkshire

how often and/or when were you last billed? when was the account last credited? what transactions show between the 4th and 6th to give the difference?

There is no way I use that much in a week let alone a couple of daysWe will have to take your word for that as you havent mentioned the unit readings between those two dates.I don't think so they add £67 and deduct £67 to balance and it goes in my bank account plus I would have used more than the differenceDon't rule it out. Whilst they may not show it as an explicit transaction, it may appear briefly on your credit balance online in the gap between them getting it and paying it to you. The quality of online portals across the energy sector varies and not many are upto banking standards in terms of transaction data. Quirks are not uncommon.

when we give meter readings it can take half an hour or so for the balance to update. sometimes one meter reading gets worked out then the other a few minutes later. so did you give readings on the 4th and maybe check the balance before it had finished updating?
either way its easy enough to see if its actually right or not. go to billing history > current billing period > charges in detail.
then you can see exactly what credit was brought forward from your previous bill, your payments in this month (inc the rebate), the charges being taken (inc meter readings), and your remaining balance.
if one of those things is wrong then yes theres a problem with your account.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

I am on smart meter and readings are taken every 30 minutes.ariarnia said:when we give meter readings it can take half an hour or so for the balance to update. sometimes one meter reading gets worked out then the other a few minutes later. so did you give readings on the 4th and maybe check the balance before it had finished updating?

I copied the balance sometime on the 4th and earlier today on the 6th, still showing £2540 -
that doesn't mean there applied to your account every 30 mins. ovo will pull them from the central database (probably) once a day and maybe less often over christmas/the bank holidays.MikeJXE said:

i know the 67 payment didn't happen on the first (ours showed up some time on the 3rd i think) so still think thats most likely the reason for the jump.
either way. you can check if the 254 balance is right or not by going to your billing page and looking at the charges in detail.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott

I can see my usage for everyday in the past but todays I will see tomorrow.
The 3rd 4th and the 5th were E 1.62, 2.07 and 1.48 kWh and G 20.08, 24.29 and 6.89 kWh.
So obviously something amiss but I will wait and see what gives0 -
I’m with OVO too and saw my credit balance jump as the £67 was applied and then drop back down the next day as the refund was actioned and the next days usage and standing charge was applied too. Also on 30 min readings but they just apply the total from the previous day.1
