Outbuilding fridge freezer

After the cold spell in december my 17.5 year old F/F that is in a unheated extension. Decided to defrost its self. I now need a new one as I can't trust it to keep the temp correct. So have been looking on line it seems hard to find any and they all seem to be beko brand. I am not sure if there any others out there. Most…

It was my Dad's old unit and he died in 2000. So it was probably manufactured in the 90s if not the 80s.

Did they use a different refrigerant back then?

I must admit, I have had a normal fridge for the last 20 years in my shed, but they do really struggle in the summer, I put a thermometer in the fridge and I can’t safely put food in it in the summer months so then it turns into a beer fridge.
