Switch from pay monthly to sim only mobile

Hello!
I’m thinking of switching to sim only having always previously been monthly contract. I’ve found a great deal through MSE but the provider (Lebara) use Vodafone for their network and that’s who I’m currently with. If I do a switch, is it likely to cause problems? Thanks!

I had been with EE for many years but switched to Plusnet 2 years ago sim only rolling month. Ported my number within a couple of hours.

The reason I went with Plusnet is it's on EE network and I have never had a problem with signal.

I believe EE has the best coverage

I don't know anything about Lebara but I don't think Vodafone is great however you should know what thats like

Try to get rolling month then you are not stuck in a contract.

I moved from Vodafone contract to O2 Sim only, did it all online & it was effortless.

Lebara will use the same Vodafone signal so if that works for you now, Lebara should work the same.

As for switching, it shouldn't be a problem. They still count as switching to "another network", so you just get your PAC code from Vodafone and provide that to Lebara to port your old number (from Vodafone) over to your new network (Lebara).

Even if it was a problem, you'd just port your number to a non-Voda network PAYG SIM and then immediately on to Lebara.

Even though lebara use the Vodafone network they are considered a different network, so you will cease to be a Vodafone customer, and become a customer of a Vodafone customer instead. The fact that you are getting the same signal makes no difference.
  • I'm a Lebara customer. Recently I've been getting a lot of nuisance calls, I probably used my number in a scam website or something. Anyway, I've been asking Lebara support for a new number, at first they said get a new sim and they could sort it in two minutes. I did that but they then said I couldn't have two numbers linked to my account. so I've asked them to cancel my account, it's a one month contract type but they aren't answering me. I tried getting my bank (Santander) to cancel the monthly payment butthay are just as useless, I've even threatened to change my bank. So, don't believe Lebara when they say you can cancel at anytime.
