American style fridge freezer

Options
Hi, the freezer door keeps opening. I adjusted the freezer tilt but Im worried food will get spoiled and often theres too much ice on packets indicating door may have been ajar.
Why do such upright freezer doors not have a catch to prevent this?

The doors normally have a magnetic catch.

My doors did not keep opening.

You need to investigate why yours are doing that.

Thanks.  Its usually because the freezer has been overpacked and a bags stick out from a shelf preventing closure.  I have tried adding extra magnetic catches.  My question is why there seem to be no freezers with mechanical latches other than some child locks.  It seems such a simple component and so I hoped to learn why latches are not used as a door opening by accident is very expensive due to spoilage and the freezer motor burning out.

Perhaps the reason is safety?  If a child managed to get stuck in freezer

I have a beko fridge freezer. Closing the fridge door sometimes causes the freezer door to open. I guess air is pushed downwards internally. The answer was to fit a child lock to the freezer
