Marbles changes to card agreement

I got a notice of variation from Marbles today.
Balance Transfers interest 15.9% per annum.
Cash advances interest 33.9% per annum
I never use the two above, so I don't know if they have risen by much.
Purchases interest 15.9% (used to be 12.9% in my case).
As HSBC have sold off Marbles to Aviemore/Sav, and comparing my new rates to the rates of an aqua credit card, I suppose it's not too bad (for Purchases). They are following the trend.
It seems that HFC is still managing the card. Whether they will carry on like that or eventually Aviemore/Sav will manage the marbles accounts at a later date, I don't know, but I have the feeling that more increases will follow next year.

Ive checked my statement today and they have also increased my APR.

From 17.9% to 27.9% for purchases that is terrible, are they allowed to do this?

Yes if you don't like it you have the option to stop using the card, all they need do is give sufficient notice if you cotinue using card after that it is deemed you have accepted the new conditions.

They can charge what they like its their money not yours afterall.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

That's a big rise. That's what I was afraid of when I heard which company was taking over.
Have you got a big balance on your card that you can't repay at once?
If not, clear your balance, apply for another card with a lower APR and cancel your Marbles card.
