    If, for example, client instructs solicitor/conveyancer to do conveyancing at minimal cost, do nothing else especially any tax matters....

    IANAL . Dunno if legal.

    Classic example is someone buys property with tenants remaining.  Instructs solicitor/conveyancer to work at minimal costs.  Unlikely they will issue notice(s) compliant with s48 or s3 so no rent due (s48…) and possible fines and criminal offence (s3).

    Upset new owner.
