Have you looked at respite foster care / other forms of respite care?
Any pointers how you get into respite care @Savvy_Sue? Probably sounds like what we are looking to do.0 -
Google respite foster carer plus your area. Local authority and other agencies will appear, I'm sure.
Be in no doubt that it will be a long road with many challenges. Respite isn't usually needed for the 'easy' children and teenagers, and it can be a struggle to get it for the more challenging ones!
Another thought: some places offer play opportunities for children / teens with disabilities: they may need volunteers.
I would also Google teenage mentoring plus your area: they may be especially glad of non-white mentors.Signature removed for peace of mind1 -
I think volunteers should wait for the second flow of refugees from Ukraine. The government has already spoken about this several times.
