Current account transfer bribes

Hi all,

Now is a good time for me to move my bank account, but it seems there are very few bribes currently on offer (I'm currently with First Direct so can't take advantage of theirs).

Is it worth waited a few months?  Is there a time of the year that other banks regularly start offering such bribes?

Thanks

I would suggest you have more than one account groomed and ready to go.
If your real main account is with 1st Direct I would be keeping it there unless you are really unhappy. It has the best RS rate after all.

bank switch deals come and go. Just like buses, probably several will come along in the not-too-distant future. I don't think any time of year is better than an other 'though some might want decent figures of new customers by the end of the financial year. Who knows?

I really can't recommend enough as has been mentioned already that if you're only out for incentives, use a secondary account.
You could set up low cost direct debts to tick criteria to some charities as low as £1 or £2.
You only have to read through specific incentive threads on here to see the doom and gloom some customers get caught up in.
Don't risk your main account and mortgage/rent, always play it safe.
You may find with year end approaching more incentives pipe up, if not, at least in Q1.

You can spin up a DD within a week on PayPal, seems a bit daft to set that bit up until necessary.

You can always delay the switch date by a week if you're concerned about the offer closing.
