Morning
Happy New Year.
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark, wet and windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was slow cooker beef casserole, nice it was too, with mash and veg. Not sure what we're having tonight, will sort when I finish work at lunchtime.
I have a couple of household admin types jobs to do this afternoon also.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all and thanks to NMLC for the start off. I seem to have decluttered my sleep this morning as I was in bed at midnight then wide awake again about 3.30 after a severe bout of coughing ! I've been web wandering since then so I suspect I'll need a nana nap this afternoon.
I found my small holdall sandwiched between 2 larger ones, but now I need to find a pair of trousers which I suspect are hiding in plain sight or under a top in the overflow wardrobe.
Today I am going to change the bed but will hold off on washing the bedding till another day, then I'll clean the bathroom, dust upstairs and hoover. The freezers need a sort out too today, seems the messy elf has been rummaging again. My overnight stuff needs to be sorted for tomorrow and then packed as we're going for afternoon tea at a hotel in Cardiff Bay then on to see "Les Miserables" in the evening and returning home on Friday.
Mehefin I hope the x-rays throw some light on why you're are still so poorly. Hugs
dp1 hope the birthday party went well and great fun was had by all.
Hope the poorly ones are on the mend and hugs to anyone in need.
Take care all
nan xx

Morning all. It's suspiciously quiet outside so that may mean no heavy rain for a change. 🙏 I slept well though always wake too soon. Last night I stayed up much later than usual to watch Taken, again, yet still woke at 5.30am.Whilst watching the wretched film I suddenly took a notion to start sorting out / decluttering one of the bedroom drawers which has things like plasters, earbuds, soaps, shower gels etc. There was far too much unused and unwanted stuff in so a load of it is now in a bag to go downstairs and then out somewhere. Not sure where yet, but it can't stay here. Also there's the stuff I pulled out of the wardrobe yesterday to deal with. It's now in sorted out piles. A wonderful tapestry wall hanging is going to my niece as it was worked by her great-grandmother in the early 60s for her grandmother (my DM). I had it restored last year by the Royal School of Needlework in Hampton Court Palace so it needs to be hung somewhere. I want things like that to be passed on before I do!Yesterday the chap up the hill brought me a tub of his beef casserole, I'm beginning to suspect that he's keeping an eye on me. Am I showing signs of decrepitude? 😀 I've decanted it and stuck it bin the freezer as I have enough in the fridge for the rest of the week.Today I'll continue sorting through stuff. Bedside table, which has three wee drawers, is in the frontline. I've had a nice win from my premium bonds this morning making a very cheery start to my day.Hugs and thoughts to all our poorlies. Happy Wednesday to all.11

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. We have had torrential rain bashing us all night but thankfully now seems to be easing off.
NAN I think I am a day or two ahead of you with the neverending cough but I think I can finally say I think it is easing off. I woke up coughing around 4.00 then couldn't get back to sleep again Grr!
It's bus trip day and it will be my first venture outdoors since the lurgy struck on Christmas Day. Just the two of us again but between us we can talk for England so I am looking forward to a good natter, a nice meal (made by someone else!) and the usual bottle of wine. On the strength of us ending up in Skipton again I have a little list for Yorkshire Trading - mainly cat stuff from their pet aisle and a re-stock of meds as the lurgy has nearly cleared me out!
Have a nice day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, convalescing or plain fed up. MEHEFIN I hope the x-ray brings up a diagnosis and it's nothing too worrying. You seem to have been poorly for quite a while now. NELS I hope you are ok. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning All
Wet and windy out this morning, the wind was howling just after 5am when I woke up but then by some miracle I went back to sleep until 7 and feel so much better for it.
Yesterday was a bit of a slow day with some TV watching, a nap and some knitting - I started a little teddy bear about 3 months ago and didn't finish it. It'll be a strange looking creature but I'm sure the little one will love it all the same when it's done.
Hope your little one enjoyed her birthday dp1 and your eldest DD got back safely.
Hugs to you Mehefin, hope you get some answers from the Xrays.
How kind of your neighbour Gers. Well done on the win.
Enjoy your trip out TA.
Didn't manage a swim yesterday, maybe today will be the day! Not much else planned but must sort out the toiletries I was gifted for Christmas and get them in the cupboard, they are cluttering up the landing.
Hope you all have a good day, thinking of the poorlies and Nelski, haven't heard from you for a while. Take care. XX

Morning all and thanks for the thread @nmlc x
I fell asleep in the chair last night, took myself off to bed and couldn't sleep for coughing, so can empathise @TravellingAbuela and @nannywindow - so exhausting!
Another WFH day today. The recycling is out kerbside and I've put a wash on. Dinner will be a lamb hotpot using a sachet I picked up in Sains. Not enough LO lamb from Christmas Day so I'll also use up the LO beef from NYD. I will do it in the SC to save some pennies.
We took the trees down last night and hoovered round. Just the outside porch lights to dismantle but that's a job for DH later today if it ever stops raining.....
That's really sweet of your neighbour @Gers - is he eligible?!
Hope the birthday celebrations were fun @dp1 x
Enjoy your day out @TravellingAbuela x
Hope you get some answers from the x-ray @mehefin x
Hugs to our other poorlies @poppy811, @Nelski, @London_1 and anyone else I've missed xx

Morning all well its not raining so thats a plus but it just feels grey and miserable . I have spent the last hour sending texts to the carpenter ,solicitor, travel agent and landscaper just to try and get the quotes and rough dates for starting work as for the solicitor he is the other executer to mums will and is a family friend the last thing to do is the changing of the deeds to the house it seems to have been going on a long time now and i need to get my affairs in order so i will wait upon events . The travel agent is to try to work out why when i try to check my flights to Thailand to reserve our seats it tells me the flight is cancelled and/or that ref no the flight has already left which is odd as we dont go till April nothing seems easy any more
Right another day indoors sorting bits and bobs dinner tonight lamb chops , roasties and veg
Mehefin I hope they get to the bottom of it all for you
TA Have a good day out
DP1 Hope the party went well for little one
Hugs to all our poorlies and those looking after poorlies

Hi everyone,
Mehefin, I hope they have some answers for you, I'll be thinking of you and all the other poorlies. I hope your hands haven't flared up again Nelski.
The living room looks very bare, it always does when the decorations come down. We have 2 velux windows and in June ordered new blinds for them, they finally arrived on 23rd December. Apparently the delay was because we ordered solar powered ones, the present ones are manual and tend to remain closed because they're awkward to open (I feel dizzy if I look up too long so it makes it difficult). I'm looking forward to opening them on days like today, they are south facing so being able to close them is essential.
Aims today are to finish my jigsaw and tidy the sewing room which has become a bit of a dumping ground. Brian is using it as a study and has moved a lot of stuff. We'll have an easy dinner of aubergine parmagiani and arancini both of which are in the freezer, I have freezer based meals planned for the rest of the week so by the time the family return there should be a bit of room in there.

Morning all from a windy Mehefinland
well I think that is the quickest I have ever been in and out of a hospital!! took as long to walk from the car park as the treatment (xray did)
had a wry smile to myself as my late father was in here when it was officially opened ( By HRH Di.) and he was completely zonked out missed all the fuss.
GP will get the results some time next week so hopefully something might turn up. Have lost significant weight , about 17kg since beginning of December which is worrying. Have a phone consultation tomorrow with the consultant haemotologist ( different hospital) so he may have some news.
Finally had a decent nights sleep for me last night
And I got to see the horse for the 1st time in 48 hours which gave me a boost.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning everyone
Thanks for all the good wishes re little ones birthday - she spent all day saying 'I'm 4 now you know.' She loved the new pram and baby I got her - the doll cries, makes noises and sucks its dummy - nephew declared it was a bit annoying!
She had a great time at soft play with her two cousins and DD and I had a very nice hot chocolate - then tea at mam and dads so they could be included too. Visits from two aunties with more presents including a twenty pound note from my sister in law to choose more furniture for her Sylvanian house - she was delighted. It was a lovely day.
Quiet one today - I may manage to start one of my new Christmas books this afternoon. Going to give the bathrooms a good clean and get the towels on the line as it's windy. Also need to give little ones toys a good tidy - theres some puzzles and games could go to a charity shop as she's too big for them now.
Hope all the poorlies are feeling a bit better today.
I'm going to get on otherwise I'll sit here all morning.
Hope everyone has a good day x8
