I have now had the second quote back £854 which is using new bricks but I am quite ok with that however it does not include repairing anywhere else which the others where happy to do but this one less so. The one recommended by the gardener also came he was very nice and he took pictures etc but said the quote would take a week to get done. I am in no rush so that is fine. The £854 guy can do it next week.

Also forgot to say that the investment platform I got £50 to join sent a survey around ages ago which I filled in and I am sure it said something about a thank you for doing it. However I did get an email asking if I would like some items from them to which I said yes. A huge box arrived yesterday with a selected of branded stuff (lovely green) a Chilly's water bottle, a nice notebook, a multi charger a pen and a cotton tote bag. All useful stuff so that was a nice little freebie. 

I have also done quite well on the actual investments I have £200 invested £150 of my own money) and in the last 3 months it has grown by 6.33%. Will will put a screen print up so you can see the individual investments and shares. I am quite pleased it feels like a flutter as I would usually not invest in shares. 

Work is still a bit boring but I must get more done as I am off tomorrow afternoon and I have not packed yet as we know.

Morning those screen prints came out rather large didn't they sorry about that.

I have now packed and feel more ready even if work isn't up to date yet.I decided last night after looking it up that you can take knitting needles onto a plane so I decided to take my pink bag project from the £5 box with me to make on the journey. Well turns out that they sent me 1 x 6mm needle and 3 x 8mm so that is not very useful. We need some bread so nipping into the village to get some and there is a small shop that might have it. I also need a couple of other bits but my bag is now full so really cannot fit anymore into it. If they do not have any I will just take the last of the blanket squares with me and I can always buy some when over there. 

Going have a late big warm lunch before I set off to avoid spending at the airport. It is great I am travelling without suitcase so I can easily get to the train station at CPH airport.

Managed to get some knitting needles at local shop so that was handy. £3.10 spent. 

Work finished ok and train all good so sitting in Spoons at Gatwick making the most of the free refills. 

Green square going well almost half way much better to do that than scroll on the phone. 

Seeing my dad Saturday which is good as I’ve not seen him for over a year. My sister and family is also going to will be fine we can drown out the girlfriend if she’s too annoying. I can also get my golf clubs out of his house I want them for the summer. 

Anyway time for another coffee.

Thank you SH I landed 20min early so got a train a whole hour earlier so will be at my mums in about an hour. £14 for a return train ticket plus £7.50 on beers and a snack for the journey. Got stuck at passport control as I could not see the EU booths they had gone. Turns out they were behind and 4 as oppose to 2 for all passports. I look forward to both of us sailing past the Brits at the all passport. Really do not care. Even more fun for them when the visa come in. Anyway on my way easy journey but cannot wait for the day I’m here permanently.

I’ve had a really nice time seeing the family and wider family. My sister husband and niece stayed with my mum Friday to Sunday but drove back after the funeral. Funeral went well nice lunch with cousins and his three daughters who I hardly know. We’re going to keep in touch. A bit of shopping now then train to airport this afternoon. Not looking forward to work tomorrow I really wish I could have stayed longer.

Afternoon everyone I need your help again re relationships you’re all so good on here. As you know we’re doing the Civil Partnership later this year so we can move to Denmark. We then wanted to get married when we’re settled in Denmark with all the friends and families that can travel over. 

We agreed we each needed to propose beforehand and this is where I need help. DG proposed via txt on Friday evening in Denmark. For context the first time she told me she loved me was also by txt. 

I replied the following in haste and I regret it now: 
Hmm by txt isn’t that a bit ……..of course I’ll say yes but if you want to propose properly you still can. 

She got upset my txt saying she thought it was romantic and I always critique whatever she does spending money or not. She then went off in a txt huff and said she is withdrawing the proposal. I obviously remembered that she first told me txt see she loved me. We did not speak that evening. We’ve spoken since obviously and I’ve said we can speak when I get back and I acknowledge I was too quick to answer (she knows I hate doing things by txt. 

What do you think am I really bad and it’s fine to propose by txt? I did not tell my family obviously as they are not part of the civil partnership section. 

I still really want to propose to her and she’s never been married before. I am thinking I could do it in Portugal maybe on the beach. We do not really do rings but she’s got her mums Pandora bracelet which she bought her and buys more charms for since she’s died. Mainly mother days ones. You can get a charm that has en engraved disk and I could put on it will you marry me? Then propose on one knee with the box. What do you think? 

I know it’s two questions but please help.

Your proposal sounds lovely.  

If that is how she wants to propose, then that is up to her and it wouldn't bother me as everyone is different which is what makes life interesting.  But then we didn't propose at all, we were both talking about inheritance tax and realised that we needed to get married so we just booked it and got 2 witnesses from the cafe opposite the registry office and didn't tell anyone else so perhaps I am not the right person to ask about proposals!

Thanks SuzieSue your reasons for the  "wedding" sounds very similar to ours. I am just not good with txt my ex and I never texted and she does it so much when we are apart she finds it easier to share emotion that way and I am the opposite. She also does not wear rings (neither do I anymore) so I thought the charm was better as at least it is keepsake but not just something to lie around it can be worn.
