Got everything in the suitcases got half left for clothes but need to be careful about weight. We have not got big hand luggage just rucksacks as I did not want to pay more and my mums car is not that big. I think it will all fit it usually does and what is arriving from Amazon is very small so should not be an issue. Might need some more bags looks like the ones I ordered are really small which is a pain but I cannot be bothered with wrapping once we get there plus they can be reused.

No gym today I did not sleep well will try Wednesday but otherwise it is full steam ahead for next year. Our golf club will have a gym in January so we can pick up extra classes their it might help too.

Got DGs dads birth certificate ordered last night now we just wait for all 3 documents to turn up before we can order the passport.

Right that is it 4 working days to go and I am signing off for Christmas cannot wait. Happy Monday everyone.

I feel you on the count down to the Xmas break.

Sorry you didn't get to see your friends. Glad the golf was fun at least.

I really cannot wait now SavingHolmes.

In good news my xmas shopping is done as the last few present arrives yesterday and the Vinted buyer finally posted the earings for my friend.

The have promised snow for Friday in Denmark and my sister thought we were coming Thursday. Well at least it was better than last year where I missed my flight by getting the day wrong.

Got a couple of meetings today but I think I shall actually got all of work done barring any last minute emergencies. Yesterday was the anniversary of DGs mums passing so a difficult day for her (she passed in 2018) and it was not made better by having a court claim lost somewhere. She had specifically asked for the address to post it but that was obviously wrong and now it has to be resent. They let her re email it but she had a meltdown as she could not change the address on the documents. Why is it always her that has all the crap she works so hard and still getting nowhere.

Anyway let's hope she managed to finish before Friday so we can get on that plane.

My weekly meeting starts in a minute and then after that it is breakfast time.

Ugh. Admin and life admin generally always seem to be 10x harder than they really need to be and always happens when it is most inconvenient. I often wonder how people manage with all this stuff if they are vulnerable/have mental health conditions/are not tech savvy etc as it drives me spare.

I love Vinted and can spend many a happy hour browsing on there! I’m currently wearing a pair of really good condition boots from there that are absolutely fab and only cost me £4 plus postage. Happy days! I rarely buy new anymore as you get a better choice second hand (very handy if you don’t like what the powers that be have decided is the current “fashion”).

So two work days to go I now cannot wait. Looks like my family had the small goodbye to my uncle at his coffin yesterday I feel sad not being there but it is what it is my cousins have not reached out so that is it really unless they do something in January. My mum would have been there so will find out and she knows how much he meant to me.

Work is still a bit bonkers and very complicated and legal at the moment. I was about to close one project when someone resigned so now it has to stay open. That is fine but I feel sorry for the ones left behind.

Got a meeting today about the new starter we recruited need to plan what they are doing but sounds like we wont get the contracts out before Christmas so we cannot get IT sorted for them so annoying but that is my works HR department.

I have now been paid 3 days early but that is fine. I have money to clear on the CC and as DG cannot pay her full share this month I need to make sure I have enough cash. I do want to try and set a savings goal for next year and keep up the £500 for Premium Bonds and £300 for regular saver. We shall see how it goes. I am not going to make the £12K but it was not far off so happy with that.

DG got up at 6am so need to have some breakfast before my first call.

Money shuffles done it is going to be tight but obviously got savings so it will be fine.

My uncles kind of non funeral was on Tuesday I do wish I had gone but it would have been tricky as I would have had to leave on Monday so a whole week out of work would not have been ideal considering how busy I have been. They did have a nice send off and my mum wrote something for him so that was nice. My cousins sent me a nice summary of the day and said they would like us to keep in touch. I was not close to either of them really as a kid it was only via my grandmother and only really the younger one. The middle one is not in touch with anyone and the older one I didn't really like as a youngster but now he has got a new partner he is so much nicer. It will be nice to have that family connection when we move back for sure even if neither of them live near where we will be it is not impossible to meet up.

I am picking up my friend and house sitter today at 4.30 so work has to be clear by then, bags needs to be packed and put in the car as I really want to chill out with some Danish mulled wine and later on some pizza..

Also had my call with the expensive IFA company they will now send off for my pensions etc if you remember it was at this stage I cancelled them last time. They do have an international adviser so it would be him. You get the review free then you obviously have to pay so we will see where it goes this time. My current providers who as you know I do not really like are not able to advice abroad.

Best get back to work then

Thanks Savingsholmes and Happy New Year to everyone.

We had a lovely Christmas at my sisters and dg really enjoyed herself. She does get on well with everyone’s and she can really see herself living here. It’s definitely paid off already Duolingo she can pick up works now and form sentences.

It’s looking like we would rent first over here it’s not expensive and there is loads of choices. We looked in the areas we have earmarked and the houses look amazing from the outside as well. We did not view anything far too early.

We’re thinking of moving sooner and working over here remotely if my work allows it. It would mean travel back once a quarter but could be doable. Just need to think about the tax implications. Tax here is scary.

Today we’re going to exchange some presents and out for dinner later. I’ve not had breakfast yet and it’s 11am.
