Just caught up.  Sounds as if you are settling in really nicely (and bar wall looked great!)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Thanks Watty

We also finally have a giant screens projector and a fab surround sound system DG is so happy it was lovely to see. It was her birthday present back in May. The electrician has also been she now has the shelf with lights on the wall. Looks so good.

He’s also sorted lighting in the office over the other desk. It’s actually nice and bright now for my desk so bonus for that. We’ve also got a plug for the freezer so we can now fit the door and it will look smart again.

Sadly we cannot get a quartz or ceramic worktop they are not long enough. We can have laminate or wood. We’re going to look at samples next week.  Other option is to take out the end wall but that means there will be tiles missing in the floor and we do not have spares. I do not want to fit a new floor they are proper tiles.

I’m on the train going to the airport. I do need to change but it’s ok it’s only at the main station in Copenhagen which is easy. Honestly the trains are so new and posh here you feel you’re in something better then first class.

I’ve been lazy and not taken my laptop so I can bring stuff back. I won’t really need it as I’ll be at the conference and I have this morning off so not bunking off. I do have my phone too.

I’m really looking forward to seeing people it’s just going to be hard to not say anything about already living in DK. I was asked if I had my house for sale already but I’m going to say no it’s easier. Keep it vague.

Only 3 weeks more of this now.

On my way back from my UK trip dg picking me up soon. Conference was really good saw loads of people. My friend fell ill and didn’t come so I could not stay with her last night. I ended up staying with friend in London who is only 35 min from Gatwick so ideal. Had a lovely evening.

I did buy a new jacket at £69 from Uniqlo. My old one was exDHs so ancient and very worn. It’s in a lovely rusty red colour I love it.

Food was on expenses but s few drinks. Got my Greggs fix it was lush. Had a Whimpy breakfast not as nice as McD but has kept me going all day.

It was hard trying to pretend I had not moved yet but I managed. I’ll miss the people I worked with but they might come and visit.

Look forward to getting home to the cats and dg. Going to buy my wheelbarrow tomorrow also seen a diy Xmas star I want to make that lights up outside it looks ace and is made out of trestle legs. Should be home in an hour have a lovely evening.

It is lovely to be back and we had quite a productive Sunday. I got my wheelbarrow but not put it together yet however we did get as far as to paint the star but did not have enough spray paint so need another couple of cans to make it really nice and protected. We should have bought paint instead but it is actually quite easy to spray it. We got the lights and found a place to plug them in right in front of the office so quite looking forward to finishing them today if we can get the paint. We also pumped into the local carpenter when he came to have a nose at the new building work next door. He has just done another garage door removal and showed us the window door combo we can have. He has already been in touch so I think he is after work which is ideal really. He also wants the old door and mechanism so that is handy. Saves us trying to sell it.

He actually fitted the door from the lounge out in this house the one that is so annoying as it has no handle on the outside and the cats push it open really easy. He is going to see if we can find us a solution which would be nice as it is most likely better than what we come up with.

We would not have met him had we not been outside working on the star. I do need to get my mulch onto my beds as the frost is here in the mornings.

I have a ton of work to do as I am only working 3 days this week and 4 days next week. Ideally the lasts 2 days before I leave I do not want to do too much to be honest.

Wow txt just in from carpenter and we have a price for the door that is within what we thought. It will take 4 weeks to get the door ordered so we could have it done by Christmas which is really exciting.

In order MSE news I have had my refund for the train ticket I bought when I thought I was staying with my friend so that was really good.

So Tuesday already and why do things always have to work out more complicated. We got the paint for the star and I decided to look at the wheelbarrow we that bought Sunday (same shop as the paint) and the wheels have to have air in them and that is not that easy. We have one for car tyres but that does not work and it says it quite complicated to get air in unless you have a compressor. Now in my old life I would have had one of those via exDH work but alas here I do not. I then had to find the receipt so I can take it back and could I find it. Turns out I put it in a safe pocket in my bag but that wasted a good 1/2 hour. So it is going back today but I still have not got a wheelbarrow and my plants are getting beaten up by the frost and my compost it just sat there. So I found the one I really want but you have to pay delivery charge to get it. I also have to wait for it but I am tempted as I have not found anything else I really like instead.

We went to watch a movie in the pool bar Lilo and Stich we waiting until we had the big screen. Of course the heat pump decided to play up so it was freezing in there. Turns out DG could not find out how to change the batteries so when its low it cannot function and turned itself to aircon. Well it certainly got cold in there but we did have blankets with us which was nice.

Other crap stuff was I went to put a new blog on our site and I have managed to mess up the page so now there are no blogs on our website. Luckily the developer has said he will help us hopefully meeting us today but he is on a different timezone so lets see. It means I missed out on our social media post linked to our groups you can only post in on a Monday.

I did progress work a little bit but there is still loads to do and I am just not motivated. DG just said order the bloody wheelbarrow so hopefully it will come soon. Today we should be able to finish the star and get the lights on. The other lights I put up were not lit last night they are solar so have a feeling they might be rubbish but they are brand news so really annoying if they are.

My flower poster should arrive soon so will get the frames in IKEA I really hope that moves our bedroom forward so it can start looking nice in there.

Might be a stupid suggestion but do the lights have a tab thing that you pull out to start them working like with a battery or an on switch. I couldn't get my solar lights working and i'd not turned them on 🙈

Thank you for the suggestion Bargainhunter30 I believe there is just not enough daylight to charge them up to last past a certain point in the evening but they do work at least. The start is also complete with lights on and we are really pleased with it. We just need the icicles and we realised yesterday that the prev owners has put zip ties on the guttering so we do not need to buy the clips that goes on normally which is a saving. We bought loads of zip ties so we can now fit a set once we find which ones we want. You can buy sets you can extend and add more to so it all can get plugged into on plug so that is what we are considering but we just need to research which one is the best one.

Wheelbarrow sage continues. It arrived today with the non puncture wheel but it is probably a return of some kind as the bit you attach the wheel to is really bent and it was dusty and not packaged very well. I have complained and they even rang me but it is not coming from the company I ordered it from but directly from another so they have to reply first. I really do need it as it is such hard work moving the compost without it and I had planned to do it tomorrow which I now cannot. Just have to be patient as I do not think it will even work properly if I tried to make the bit straight again.

We have sorted the blog on the webpage out the people who helped us build it fixed it for us and it is now all good again. We even know how to fix it should it happen again. I also managed to do a social media post ready for Monday so all good.

DG forgot her Danish lesson but the teacher rang so she still had her lesson. She is doing really well and has homework each week so we need to practise something new this week.

The posters arrived they are lovely we think they will fit better in the lounge and then we will completely rethink the main bedroom. I love the William Morris stuff from Habitat/Sainsbo/Argos so might take a look and at least get the bedspread. The curtains do not fit but if we got 4 they might. If not we could get some from Dunelm at least they have more colours than here as you know they do not fit. DG does not like navy blue (my favourite colour) but our bed is blue (rushed purchase and only other option was grey). She does like this one so I think that could work really well with the navy blue.

Right that is it really I am still working tomorrow on my day off but hopefully just in the morning. It is already almost dark here so I have put the lights on my star I will put some picture up so you can have a nose. It was fun to make and quite MSE but yes very big so needs to be taken apart for storage.

Thank you Loanranger21 it was so fun to do and woke up this morning to a light covering of snow so really feeling festive while the house is lovely and warm.

Still no wheelbarrow but I have messaged my sister to see if I can borrow theirs I am sure they have one as that would solve the issue right now. She is unfortunately at work so will have to wait until she gets off.

We are off to speak to the kitchen shop today at 4pm we also need to go to IKEA (again again I know) to get frames for the flower posters. We also had planned to get a click and collect order but did not get around to it so will have to do the shop instead.  At least now we know where most things are in the huge shop so it is not so bad.

It is my day off but I have a call at 9.30 to speak to a colleague who helped me with something for DG not long ago so that is totally fine. I could also do with working on my report that has to be done by next week. I got some good information for it in a call i did with the CEO so should really work on that.

I do need to clean the house and as I am not that busy compared to DG it is only fair I do it. We can then get the xmas decs down and actually decorate the house. We do not normally do the house as we are never at home for Christmas but we will be this year. We shall go to my sister for xmas eve and and then be here for xmas day so I will have to buy a yorkshire pan and cook dinner. We might not bother with turkey and do chicken or beef instead.

Right work calls catch up later. Wish me luck in the kitchen shop I am sure I will fall in love with the most expensive option there is.
