microsoft intellimouse

in Techie Stuff
have just tried to put wireless microsoft keyboard and microsoft intellimouse optical 2000 on computer .. keyboard works fine but mouse just keeps coming up with " needs mouhid.sys file from XP disc " tried disc and not found on xp disc .. any suggestions on how to get the file or has anyone had the same problem .. remember I am a novice

sorry for not getting back but had to go out .. dowloaded the driver but could not get any programme to run it

Have you tried downloading the required software direct from Microsoft?

yes tried that but just the same .. keyboard worked ok but on mouse came up with the same "mouhid.sys required load xp disc " load xp disc but computer can't find0

Try typing "mouhid.sys" into Google, there are hundreds of ideas and solutions, dont forget if you download it put it in C:\Windows\System32\drivers it should work, you don't need to try and open it.There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0
