Morning everyone
On my way into work, 2 nights to go after today then 5 days off. Hopefully not too busy today.
Only got back from DM on New Years Day and was at work yesterday so have lots of cleaning & sorting to do on days off.My landlord has replaced the shower and tiles in the bathroom it looks really nice. Thankfully this was done whilst I was away.
DM seems to be improving from the nasty virus that seems to be doing the rounds, although she has another UTI and a chest infection and is on antibiotics again.
Get well wishes to all that are not well. Ruby hope you are still resting. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Have a good day. Take Care.11 -
Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc. The wind has been raging all night and it's still very noisy now, the upside is that the temperature is no longer in minus figures.Yesterday was very cold again so I wrapped up and kept cosy in my electric throw. In between catching up on recorded shows I dug out some limp veg from the fridge to make a pot of soup. I bunged in some lentils to add protein then blended it which made it into a brown sludge even though it's very tasty. Now I need to find out what to do with sprouts. 😀
Today will be banking day, I'll update my spreadsheets. It's another bank holiday here in Scotland so things are still slow and peaceful. For now I hope that everyone is doing OK, especially those in the poorly ward. Happy Tuesday to all. 💐10 -
Morning All
After a freezing day yesterday it's back to rain, not much wind but still cold and miserable. Washing all dried in the living room overnight and ready to be put away.
I went with DD and the little one to the beach at Troon yesterday, it was perishing cold but lovely and sunny, strange to see frost on the banks of seaweed that was banked up. We collected shells and had chips on a bench on the prom from a little cafe. Very busy and a great day, worth the drive to get some sea air. Slept really well last night too.
Not sure what's doing today, may go for a pool swim but it doesn't open until 10 and I'll have found something else to do by then!
Glad your DM is on the road to recovery Topsy.
Get well wishes to all the poorlies, so many on here with the lurgy of one sort or another.
Still eating up the mountain of food left from Christmas although the fridge has a little space in now, the stinky stilton has gone to my neighbours, DS2 didn't manage to eat it all!
Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. When I first looked out I thought it had been snowing but it's a thick frost. I could hear the gritter up and down the main road to town so that at least should be safe for folks going back to work and school.
It's Tuesday but no coffee 'n lunch meet. Although I feel better I'm still hacking away so BFF and I decided it would perhaps be safer for her to keep away from me for another week so I'll carry on ringing my "unclean" bell!
I've just been compiling an Ocado order for the end of the week. Thanks to the lurgy it's just bread f, v and fridge stuff. The freezers are still pretty rammed and I am determined to get stocks down to a more manageable level - and not go into a panic when small gaps appear!
I got all the decs down and away yesterday, followed by a dust of all the glitter and accumulated dust. Then I got the vacc out and after a little while it started making a strange noise and a smell of burning. I turned it off straight away and daren't try it again in case it goes off with a bang. It's cordless so shouldn't blow everything else if it does! So much for a frugal start to the new year if I need a new one!!
Have a good day folks, thinking of our poorlies, convalescing, fed up or sad. RUBY how are you going on? NELS I don't think we have heard from you for a while either. Take care one and all and stay away from the lurgy, I don't recommend it xx

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC - hope you've enjoyed Christmas, and that work is not too bad.Topsy ,hope work is ok for you as well,It's very frosty and seems windy as well, yesterday was cold.We weren't out at all, just took all the decorations down and packed them away into the loft. DH vacuumed while I dusted, so we are now back to normal.I don't know what's in store for today. I always feel that January is to be "got through", don't know if anyone else does. Still, the snowdrops are poking through in the garden, and other spring bulbs are starting to show in containers in the back yard, that's a good sign.Anyway I'll stop waffling and send good wishes to our poorly people - take care folks.10

Morning all chilly but not too bad today looks like some rain later just had DH come down to say he is working from home as he has the dreaded lurgy have barely seen him as he has been upstairs as i really dont want to catch this chesty cough. I will carry on sorting the drawers in the kitchen managed to part with a few bits for some reason i had 3 tin openers and 2 sets of nut crackers so one of each in the charity bag .
Topsy Pleased that your mum is feeling a bit better
Polly Thinking of you

Ruby I hope you are resting and taking things easy
Nels Hope your doing ok
Big hugs and lemsips to all those who are suffering with these bugs or those looking after them

Good morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
I have a dental check up first thing today then it's a WFH day. Will see if she suggests another load of xrays today - seems that every 6 months she wants to xray my teeth despite me not having any pain or issues! I know you can't put a price on health but £95 every 6 months is a bit much!
Still dark and a little damp outside - forecast says light rain all day so I'll postpone our washing for another day. DS2's uniform needs washing today though as he's back on shift tomorrow.
I made soup yesterday with BNS, carrots and red pepper and added some chilli flakes and cumin. I've a portion for lunch today and 3 in the freezer. Dinner tonight is SW Szechuan pork with noodles.
The beach walk sounds lovely @camelot1001 - especially the chip-eating part - nothing tastes as good!
Your quiet cosy day sounds fab @Gers x
Hope @RedRuby1231 is still resting up and that all the poorlies are recuperating well: @London_1, @Nelski, @mehefin, @nannywindow, @TravellingAbuela and anybody else I've missed x
Have a good day everyone

Morning everyone off to one of my cleaning jobs in a minute then back to my main job at 12 I woke up with a start I dreamt I had piles of white laundry all over and I spilt beetroot juice on it I think that is telling me something. WW tonight to see what the damage is hopefully not to bad but nothing I can do about it back on track I’ve managed to quickly check my bank because no debits came out on the first and I like to see where I’m at it’s definitely a year of belt tightening. We have a hard frost here very icy and it is now just starting to rain roll on summer it’s so dark . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Izzy - you've motivated me to put the white washing load on just now. My intention was to do it yesterday but I somehow managed to convince myself that as the bank holiday was a substitute for NY day then it would be just as unlucky to do the washing then.

Morning everyone
Quick one from me as little great nephew will be here in a few minutes for the day.
Just the 2 of us this morning then DD will bring little one up after lunch for her birthday presents and a play, then we're taking them to soft play followed by a party tea at my mams house. 4 today - I don't know where the time has gone! You've all been so supportive during all our medical dramas with her - thank you all.
Right 'see' you all tomorrow. Take care x11
