Our latest quote for oil (oil fired boiler) was £1.80 per litre,
That seems highly unrealistic unless you are living on one of the remote islands and the only one on oil on that island.

Our mortgage is 2k a month and will be 4k a month when we remortgage in a few months
That also seems unrealistic.   Currently, deals are not seeing increases anywhere near that level.  I just had one last week on a 5 year fix going into another 5 year fix and it was £2800 going to £3250.

Even at £1.80/L that makes 4,000 litres per year, nearly twice what we use for a four bed Victorian farmhouse in NE Scotland.

And 60kWh per day for electric heating on top of that, which equates to two 2kW heaters for 15 hours a day each.

There has to be scope for massive savings here.

Start by halving the oil price, then maybe upgraded controls on the heating, or the very least a sanity check on the system  Oil at market price is around 9p/kWh, but even at £1.80/L it should still be miles cheaper than daytime electricity.
