    Ours is heated once a day which is necessary in winter - and the heat pump is on and working away anyway for the heating - it's just the idea of keeping the heat pump on needlessly guzzling 35-50kWh per summer month on top of the few kWh for the hot water is the problem.

    A kettle upstairs in summer might indeed be the solution, if we can find a viable place for it.  Honestly, even filling a jug from the electric shower would be cheaper than the vampire load from the pump, it's just really awkward to do without getting the rest of yourself wet :lol:
