Pension on Payslip

Hi All,
I am a bit confused by how my pension is showing on my payslip.
The pension is a fixed contribution by my employer .... I think?
It shows as an employer contribution amount in a separate section, but then 50% of the value is shown as a negative value in my taxable pay calculation under a heading WPR pension?
I also have a SIPP and am a higher tax payer so when i am filling in my SA, do I put in the total employer contribution + 20% + my sipp contributions (inc relief)?
As an example of what is on Payslip (with made up numbers!):
Other Info Period YTD
Employers Pension 500 6000
Pay Period YTD
Salary 5000 60000
WPR Pension -250 -3000
The salary has not been reduced so it is not salary sacrifice I don't think.
I am expecting this to be me missing something simple tbh.
Thanks for any help someone can give

You can never claim tax relief on employer contributions.
You never include net pay contributions on your tax return as they have already received the maximum possible tax relief by reducing your taxable pay i.e. salary £30k less 10% net pay contribution = £27k taxable pay (the P60 pay figure).
You really need to find out exactly what method is used for these contributions.0 -

As Dazed points out, employer contributions don't feature on your self assessment tax return for the reasons he has explained. The form prompts you with the following:Do not include payments you make to your employer’s pension scheme which are deducted from your pay before tax or payments made by your employer.
Your tax return needs to show your personal contributions where these are made from taxed income. Your SIPP contributions definitely fall into this category and I suspect your work place contributions do too - but again, as Dazed suggests, you need to find out, so double check with your employer before going any further.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
In your example have you been taxed on £5,000 or £4,750?0
