Name sequence wrong on ticket with trip dot com


Hello,
I booked flights through trip dot com for two passengers. The flights are non-refundable.
However, one of the passenger’s first name/surname are in wrong sequence.
I spoke to the airline to change the name sequence but they said I have to speak to trip.com’s helpdesk.
Trip dot com said it’s not possible to change the name sequence and only option is to cancel and rebook the ticket. As the ticket is non-refundable I won’t get anything back if i cancel the ticket. Also, the same ticket is nearly double the price now as i booked the original ticket in August 2022.
I checked both the passenger’s details very carefully when I booked the ticket and someone else also double checked the details with me.
I checked online and a lot of people complained about the same thing, suggesting there is a glitch on their system that sometimes reverses passenger names.
I paid for the ticket through credit card. If the passenger is denied boarding, would i be able to claim the money back?
Who can i complain to regarding this issue?

Airline ticketing does sometimes reverse names but it’s unusual if one of you on the same flight has a ticket listing first and last name in one order, with the other passenger on the same booking listed the other way around.
Autofill on your computer is often the cause.
If shown as FIRSTNAME/SURNAME.MR or SURNAME.FIRSTNAME/MR, I would have thought you would be okay. Main thing is the passenger’s first name and surname are correct and match your passport.0
