Draining a washing machine

Our AEG washing machine has finally given up after 16 years of excellent service.
We have bought a John Lewis branded machine and part of their collection service states that we have to disconnect and drain the machine.
Any idea how to do the draining part ?

Next to the machines filter (normally behind a small door on the bottom of the machine) there should be a small plug.
Pull the plug and out comes a tube, this is how to drain the machine.0 -
Detach the drain hose (at the back) from any retaining clips .... and just lay it down flat on the floor (after you get the machine outside! ).
You normally put it onto a pump cycle first (whilst still fully connected) ... but you can't do that if it's dead. So you just syphon the excess by laying the hose flat for a minute or so.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
