New smart meter noise

We've just had new smart meters installed by Octopus and am finding the gas one is making some noise at times.  The noise is a ringing hum and I just wondered if this was normal or theres a problem with it?  I've put a sound meter app on my phone and its measuring about 70 dB from a few feet away.
