Hi everyone,
I'm joining the decoration removal brigade today. I probably won't finish because I have to wash the towels and bath mats before I put them away again.
Hopefully we will see Chris, Crystal and Nate today before Chris goes back to work tomorrow. We haven't had chance to catch up with him for a while - update, he just rang and they had a terrible night, Nate's stomach is better but now he's teething, typical baby! We might still see them but we'll wait and see.
TA I'm glad you're feeling a bit better but you sound terrible Mehefin, I hope you start to recover soon.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all. There is an unfamiliar shiny ball int he sky for a little bit..We didn't leave the house yesterday and I was amazaed to see so many questions from people on fb asking if this shop or that shop was open. It's one day...surely Dunelm doesn't have emergency supplies? I'm also leaving the Christmas decs up for as long as superstition allows it. I can't see the point of me going to all the trouble of putting them up only to whip them away asap. And twinkly lights have always been a downfall of mine
I will do a cull of baubles this year though, life's too short for accidentally ugly baubles, the on purpose ones are allowed to stay though. I have one of a hippo, it is really ugly, but so ugly, it's distinctive
I'm going to make a wreath with the ugly ones and chuck some other stuff on top of them. Tomorrow we're off to the BFI in London to watch a film, mainly OHs treat to himself, so I'm driving and have booked parking and paid the congestion charge in advance in case. And I have booked to go on a coach trip to some German markets next November/December.
Izzy, hooray! a holiday!TA, glad you're out of the ward, take it easy..mehefin, same to you, take it easy! Camelot, I think I'd love a video of you chucking your hoover about
Hope all you poorlies get over whatever virus has laid you low, it's definitely that time of year. Hugs and stuff if needed, sharp proddy pokes to get going [ I need one of those] if motivation required...Take care all

Morning all, happy new year !
Another one who has been confined to the sick hospital, well the sofa, day and night since boxing day. Thankfully I was able to sleep in my bed last night and this morning I think my cough has loosened. It has been a tight band around my chest and frightening when I couldn't get my breath.
Anyway this morning it's bright and not raining for once and I have put a load in the wm. Good job we have lots of clothes especially PJ's for me as yesterday was the first day I felt up to getting dressed ! I'm sad that I had to bin some of the food that was left in the fridge although I did manage to put the leftover meat and curry in the freezer straight after xmas.
Sorry that there are lots on here who are poorly too so I'll send my love and good wishes for a swift recovery.
Take care all,
nan xx

Afternoon everyone
Lovely blue sky and sunshine today - I've washed my bedding and put it out for a blow.
Eldest DD is on her way home via Dusseldorf as it was the cheapest flight from Newcastle - she won't get back to her apartment till about 10 tonight and has work tomorrow.
Little one has gone home with mummy...all is peaceful in my house! I'm going to have a nice read of my paper and then I have little ones presents to wrap as she'll be 4 tomorrow. She is so so excited.
It's a lot when they have Christmas and birthdays in the same week - though she should have been born at the end of March. I have her a new pram complete with doll, changing bag and clothes - she'll love it.
We seem to have an awful lot of poorlies - I hope everyone is better soon.
Izzy - Seahouses is lovely, have you been before? Lovely big stretch of beach to walk along to Bamburgh.
Hope everyone has a good day today x8 -
Afternoon all. Sunny with blue skies today, although on the chilly side, but it's better than yesterday when it rained for the best part of the day. So dull and miserable I just couldn't be bothered to do very much at all.
I won't be going anywhere today - we don't need anything and I don't really want to mingle at the moment as there's so many lurgies going around. Sympathies and get well wishes to anyone suffering. Both DD and DS were coughing and sniffling over the Xmas break and DS couldn't get the antibiotics he needed so that didn't help.
The decorations came down this morning and are now stored away for another year. I usually have a sort out and donate some to the CS but I think I've reached my limit with that and there's nothing to go.
Now I'm pondering over this week's meal plan. I know we're having egg & chips tonight but as for the rest of the week ..... ? Sometimes I think it's easier when there's less choice!Yesterday's beef has been sliced and frozen and there's some chunked up to make a casserole so that's one meal sorted. There's also a couple of pears to use up (pear crumble?) and one banana. If I don't eat that today it's destined for banana bread. The SC is out and cooking a red cabbage, one of the 19p Xmas veg, so I'll portion/freeze that soon.
Right, must stir my stumps and get something done. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -

Sunny bright blue skies here on the south coast. I had a rotten night with a hacking cough so slept waaaaaay in (just about missed popmaster!) but was rewarded by rolling over in bed to look up through the window to see the neighbours massive sweetgum tree silhouetted against the sky which is always a wonderful sight.
Thus inspired I hauled myself out of bed and into a shower, managed to strip the bed, have breakfast, get the duvet cover etc into the wash and am resting up before tackling remaking the bed and washing up the breakfast stuff. (yes still to be done)
Contemplating going onto my work laptop and email the managers to say i won't be in to the job tomorrow but will WFH. I did go out on Saturday to get supplies and nearly hit a parked car my brain was so fuzzy. The drive to work involves either a long waddle through roadworks or a quicker diversion via a very very windy road in the flooded countryside. I don't think I'll do well at either at 9 am tomorrow particularly if I have another rough night.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
