Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. Its damp here, but going to be a fine day I believe. We went out for a walk yesterday to our riverside park, and it was busy, there were runners, amblers like us, children on new bikes, good job it's a big park. The paths that run directly beside the river were flooded, and all the swans were out on the grass. I had some bread for them which went down well.Sorry to hear you're not well Jackie, hope things soon improve. Also thoughts to our other poorlies - it's that time of year.Hello YorksLass, nice to see your post. We'll start taking the decs down today I think, Ds started yesterday, he sent a pic of the bare tree. We normally start getting things back to normal on new Year's Day, don't know why we didn't yesterday..Hope everyone has a good day today, and the poorly people soon feel better.Take care folks.11

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, no rain here but a heavy frost. I've given in and put the heating on for an hour.
Lazy day yesterday, caught up on a few TV things I wanted to watch and went for dinner at friends, really enjoyed it and as it's only over the road wasn't far to come home!
Thinking of the poorlies, hope you have a swift recovery.
Off to the beach today with DD and the little one, should be bracing! We may go for chips while we are out, there's a fabulous chippie there. We'll also take a flask of hot chocolate and of course a bucket and spade.
There's a hot wash on that can go on the pulley before I leave and I'll throw the hoover about if I have time.
Wishing you all a good day, take care. XX10 -
The first coffee of the day is so satisfying, even the smell of it brewing is lovely. Taking it back to bed is an added bonus for me.I am now, officially, fed up to the back teeth of animated film and war films. 😀 Yesterday I pottered around a bit before turning slothful. I wrote a load of emails to friends, some got long reports and some got new year wishes, especially friends of my late DM.
Unexpectedly the lovely chap up the hill called in to first foot me. He had a bottle of malt in one hand and his chanter in the other. Once he'd lit my woodburner and warmed up his fingers he sat by the fire and played the chanter for a wee while. A magic time from a really good piper. That's set me up for the year ahead.Once again I have no plans for the day. In the back of my mind is the vague idea of doing a white washing load, it's an easy win, lob in powder and switch on. It'll all have to go on the airer which is the less easy part. 😀 I don't want to go out to mingle with others in shops, the various bugs and viruses are circulating too freely.
I hope that everyone is doing well, especially those confined by illness or sadness. Poppy, Mehefin, Marie, JackieO and possibly Nelski and all others laid low with something nasty.Happy Monday to all. 🙋♀️10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. We had a day of rain yesterday but the forecast for today is sun! Sadly it's bringing colder weather with it!
I have discharged myself from the poorly ward. I've had enough of lounging around. I am still coughing but expecting that to be with me for a while yet. One or two bits of jobs got tackled yesterday (nothing taxing) and today I intend to get all the decs down, boxed up and dragged upstairs to put away. Nothing was to bin from yesterday's forage in the salad drawer. The stay fresh bags have earned their stripes! I do have a bag of cherry tomatoes that are going a bit soft so I plan on roasting those to make a topping for a pizza for my tea.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up or MIA. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x That's sounds a lovely way to spend the evening, good friend, good malt, good music - just magical. DH made me watch the first Avatar film last night on Disney+ - I missed it the first time around as he took DS1 and some friends for a birthday treat. Not really my bag but I quite enjoyed it, albeit long! Needed to see it before seeing the sequel now out. I have 'taped' Yesterday and The Remains of the Day to watch and we saw The Others on Friday - much more my kind of film.
Glad to see @TravellingAbuela is out of the poorly ward. I have a niggling sore throat and cough but nothing like some of you poorlies. I would love to take the decs down today too but we are off to SIL's for nibbles at lunchtime. Don't think we will stay long as her DH has pleurisy - not even sure we should go, but they insisted it was fine??
I went to Lidl yesterday but it was shut, as was Aldi, so ended up in Sainsbobs - of all the supermarkets! It was a massive megastore with homeware and clothing too. I had to go up and down every aisle with my list as haven't been in there for years. DH thought I'd got lost as I took so long. Happy to report I 'only' spent £76 which included £8 of laundry pods. We are still catering for 4 for the foreseeable future as DD and DS2 don't return to uni for another couple of weeks.
Dinner tonight is a SW recipe of creamy chicken and leeks. Will be using creme fraiche so hope it tastes okay....
Wishing our poorlies get well vibes - JackieO @London_1, @mehefin, @poppy811, @Nelski and anyone else I've forgotten.
Have a good day all
