The distance between my gas meter and my electric meter is around 15 metres.
Will smart meters work with each other over this sort of distance??

It depends on lots of things I believe but for context I live in a first floor flat, the electric meter is in a cupboard on the communal landing, the gas meter is outside one floor down under my kitchen window, it works fine on my IHD and is picked up by OVO energy so I can see an accurate display of my usage.1

The guy refused to fit my gas one, and it must be around 25 metres. When I phoned to make the appointment I was asked if it was less than 30 metres.
The devil is in the detail however. My gas meter is in the garage which is part of an extension a floor below the electric meter which is in a solid stone house.
It isn't so much the distance, as what it has to pass through within those 15 metres.2 -
Thank you both for the information.
I suppose the only way to find out is to request smarts meters & see what happens.
As you say it will all depend on too many things to give an accurate answer.
