I listen to the No Shame in a Gain podcast (which is hilarious btw and they’re all originally from our neck of the woods) and they’re doing a steps challenge. They were discussing stride lengths and saying that people with shorter legs do more steps to cover the same area as taller folks so it wasn’t fair 🤣
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪5 -
Yes to both the above! He is 5'11" with size 11 feet! I am only 5'3 & a quarter inches. Our strides are very different.

Hello Sunday Savers,
Hope all among our group have had a decent, generally MSE day. Not a no-spend day here as Mr F strode into the conservatory to announce a looming catastrophe. I was genuinely worried as to what this might be, then he said we were set to run out of coffee by tomorrow morning. Ah well, fair play to him, that would NOT be a good start to the week.....so off he went to buy an emergency supply. A low-spend day....though the price of ground coffee is getting ridiculous.
*Planted out the 1st sowing of french beans & tied them into their canes as it is windy again today.
*Planted out tromboncino for training up & over the arch into our veg plot.
*Mr F weeded the rapini, picked a bunch for some of tonight's veg & planted out another 10 (2nd sowing).
*A good stretching session for me as I have pulled out most of the sweet rocket plants at the back of the borders. They are setting seed now & are very prolific spreaders. Tall plants so needed tugging out. Removed lots of bindweed too, but need to do more of that over the coming week before I plant out the stuff that's waiting.
*Joined forces with Mr F to wrestle our blackberry into submission. Covered in flowers so hoping for a good crop at summer's end.
*Mr F made an excellent start on clearing a longstanding problem area at the bottom of the garden for which he now has A PLAN! He remembered to pot up the wild garlic plants so they won't be lost under the weed membrane & gravel layer.
*Made plans for a daytrip north next weekend. Decided to offset the 164 mile's worth of petrol by taking a picnic & big flask of coffee with us.
*Not my cooking night (Ohhh, I could sneak in some steps) but v low effort as I made enough fish pie last night to feed us tonight as well.
I think that's it for today. Into the new week we go......

Ooh you'll have to get some stealth steps in what with Mr F 'generously' going to get coffee. We know what you're up to Mr F! 😂

I'm glad to read that Soot is momentarily feeling full of food.
I agree about the price of ground coffee. I don't drink it but MrBC loves a good cup of coffee. The little cafe at our swimming pool serves very good coffee apparently and the owner sold MrBC a big bag of the coffee beans for their wholesale cost which made it a very good coffee bargain.

The largest chunks of any survey cashouts I get that pay in vouchers go to stocking up on coffee, makes it slightly less painful, though not much!

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I moan about the price of good coffee but I can't imagine not buying any. We tried some cheaper stuff a while back but it was false economy as I needed to use an extra 50% each time to get any 'body' to it. I don't drink much alcohol or smoke or vape so it's my only weakness in that line, I suppose.

Hello Readers,
Well, so little of interest going on here, I almost didn't bother posting. My Mondays are usually mostly about setting us up for the new week, so very routine. Budget-friendliness as follows:
*Mr F was off to a meeting in the south of the county today, so took a flask instead of parking up (requires an early arrival) & heading for a coffee shop.
*Did 3 loads of laundry & did finally manage to peg everything out at 2.15pm when the rain showers stopped.
*Baked a seeded loaf.
*Garden pickings: Lettuce, coriander, strawberries.
*Checked the beans I planted out yesterday. Looking ok.
*Did my regular Monday morning budget updates. The £25 from ERNIE had landed so I sent it to our Leisure & Entertainment Pot.
*Did a couple of surveys. Nothing for me on PA today. Cashed out a £10 JL voucher from another site.
*Decluttered a pile of stuff for our nephew by boxing it up for posting tomorrow when I'm in town. I don't know when we'll next see him & I am still in decluttering mode. I never buy any packaging materials other than parcel tape as I save any useful-looking boxes, big envelopes, bags, etc, from parcels received by us.
*Booked piano tuner for 2 months hence (he is really booked up) & remembered to note in my diary that I'll need to budget for the fee when I set August's budget.
And apart from 1/2 an hour's TV over lunchtime & 4 rows of knitting, that's it for today. Oh, and I did manage to find details of the decorator who did a big job for us about 4 years ago & have pinged to see if he could possibly do the necessary remedial work in the back bedroom. Neither of us mind painting, but we can't wallpaper for nuts!
Wishing everyone a pleasant & productive week,
F x

Thanks, @PiP. I'm just waiting for some Clever Trousers to make the obvious comment about that pic......as I know I, myself would doubtless do, lol x
