Its the dark mornings & long evenings that I hate. I know its cosy & I love the trees in autumn & making soup etc & long weekends doing jigsaw puzzles & reading, but I long for sunshine & warmth. Hate the prospect of cold & damp.foxgloves said:I'm the opposite, @Makingabobor2. I love Autumn - it was my favourite season even as a child.

I'm another one that loves autumn. Dealing with the cat and three meals a day going back an hour not so much. But I'm looking forward to Samhain tomorrow. I love pagan festivals because one is not more important than the others - looking at you Yule/Christmas-but I sort of feel if there is one it's Samhain“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

I lean towards the pagan festivals too, @thriftmonster. Christmas/Yule is very much a hybrid celebration in our house.

Hello Readers & Samhain blessings to you all!
Just popped on for a quick chat before deciding what to wear for going out tonight. If I tell you that so far, I have decided only on my amethyst glitter tights & boots, you can see why this is going to be mission critical in a few hours time! Weather not helping as despite a fine morning, we've just had a proper downpour. I usually like to get outside to do some 'looking forward' tasks on the 31st. It's the beginning of Winter & we need this time of darkness & cold before nature bursts forth again - I appreciate being part of this great wheel of the year & we often go out for a walk to enjoy the leaves in full colour, & sometimes a glimpse of squirrels or birds caching food to eat in the coming months. This year, our walk will be on Saturday instead as I had arranged a visitor for this morning. Mr F got out into the garden & planted garlic & shallot sets - he always plants garlic on 31st Oct, it's become a tradition in our house & we both love to see those green scapes poking through in the depths of Winter. I decided to clean the bathroom, kitchen & vacuum downstairs as it will be less to do at the weekend. I like to bake soul cakes too - another seasonal activity, although I never had them while I was growing up - but I talked myself out of it as they are rather more-ish, there are only 2 of us & I think we could get through a batch of them at impressive speed. I shall defer it to another year when we are having people round (for 2 such chatty non-shy people, we can be shockingly unsociable!)
The money had landed in our bank account from our October PA earnings - £61 for Mr F & £51 for me, now added to our Personal Spends. It's the first time we've cashed out for a while as haven't much been engaging with surveys for a few months. I intend to make an effort with them in November as another decent cash-out would be good.
Also made a small move towards a bit of frog swallowing which I intend to do on Monday. It is an extremely boring frog, but swallowing is very definitely required so if there is no mention of said amphibian ingestion when I post on Monday, you have full permission to nag me.
Right, I'd better go & sort out an outfit for tonight, then I can settle down with my book.....though will probably have to endure a few more rounds of Mr F singing, "We're witches of Hallowe'en' (from the 'Words & Pictures' programme when he was at Primary School!)
Bye for now,
F x

So i have had a variety of trick or theaters. Very small ones with their parents -sweet and grateful. 15-16 yrs honestly- dressed and sweet
A load of Y6-7. Half of them rude and entitled, half sweet and said thank you“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
