I bought an iron and ironing board after my divorce 7 years ago (ex got the ones we had as he used them most for work shirts etc) and have never used them! I still have them because you never know when you might need them, but so far I haven't 😂.Live the good life where you have been planted.

On the ironing subject, I used to have a basketful of ironing every week. Now I hardly ever need to do it. DH's company have changed the uniform & its now a polo shirt made of lovely recycled material so comes out the wash practically dry & no creases. I haven't ironed bedding for years & I live in fleecy tops & jumpers in the winter and rarely need to iron my leggings or jeggings. Probably iron a bit more in summer, as there are T shirts. But with the right washing & drying, even they can come out ok sometimes. So ironing is mainly if DH ever has to wear a smart shirt & trousers or I wear smart tops & trousers or jeans. Not like when we were kids and my mum even ironed tea towels, hankies & pants...lolMaking the debt go down and savings go up

It is only my iron I don't use. My ironing board is in daily use. It goes up quite high & is the base for my jigsaw board which I stand to use & is much better for my back.

I don't iron. At all. MrEH does occasionally, and can usually be prevailed upon to do the odd item of mine if it's absolutely desperately in need!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Another non-ironer here except when I'm dressmaking which I am at the moment but mainly just for pressing open seams! But clothes, never!6

Interesting reading all the ironing comments. I think that only liking pure cotton bed linen contributes to my ironing basket. I also don't like ath-leisure type clothes because I think they make me look like a sofa, & I think they often tend to be the garments which don't need ironing.
And here's today's budget-friendly round-up:
*Baked a granary loaf.
*Baked sausage rolls. I had 6 surplus sausages so I've frozen them for a meal next month.
*Baked a trifle sponge.
*Dealt with half a home grown pumpkin which was lurking in the pantry & well in need of using. Roasted some of it to bake a batch of pumpkin, cheese & rosemary scones & as I'd got the oven on, decided to chunk up the rest of it & roast it with garlic & thyme to accompany tomorrow's meal. Hadn't tried this scone recipe before. They are very tasty BUT I think there are errors in the recipe. I do like a fairly soft dough as the scones rise better but this dough, which was supposed to be tipped onto a floured board, tidied into a 2cm deep square & cut into 9 squares was way, way too wet. It was barely cuttable & then I couldn't pick the pieces up to get them onto the baking tray. I'm good at scones as a rule, so I added more flour but even that wasn't enough & think if I make them again, I will use at least another 100g & I also think it should be self-raising as my best scones are always made from SR with a bit of extra baking powder for added ooomph in the rising department. Defo not a viable recipe IMO, anyway......though having said that, I did enjoy one for my lunch.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & breakfast. Defrosted something for the lunch part so another container out of the freezer,
*Did a very minor amount of admin, including paying a transaction off my credit card.
*Did a couple of surveys. When everyone has paid me, my December PA earnings will be just over £40, so I will have met my monthly target.
*Liaised with Mr F over a dentist appt I need to make for the new year - it's be the private dentist who did my implants last January, as it's time to see how they are looking in terms of the minor bit of bone graft I needed. As the practice is on the far side of the city centre, it's nearly a 40-mile round trip so I am wanting to pick a day when we can go together (I'd need the car anyway just to go by myself) & do something with the rest of the day while we are over there. It makes best use of the petrol & our time.
Right, that's all for today. I am going to have a quick tidy around then knit a few more rows of shawl. I am almost back to the point at which I had to frog it, thank goodness.

Another busy day. Love that you are always baking, I wish I had more time for that. Was going to make some shortbread and then remembered that I didn't have a rolling pin any more....lol. Had a lovely one I had had for years and it broke a few months ago, and as I've not made anything requiring rolling since, I haven't replaced it. Might nip to the shop that sounds like water, at the garden centre tomorrow...although it might be pricey there. Maybe I should look on the big river site.Making the debt go down and savings go up

In the meantime, @Makingabobor2, could you not use a suitable shaped glass or bottle for rolling out your shortbread? I actually use a tall tumbler by choice for rolling out flatbreads as it's more nifty than our very heavy marble rolling pin.
Supermarkets often have cookware too.
