Congraulations.

Fantastic news, @Humdinger! I found my stint as a councillor interesting & not going to lie, was delighted to take a seat which, here in Toryville, the blues thought they had in the bag. We followed the elections closely as usual, esp as the 'favourite' to win our new regional mayoralty didn't get it, which was a big 'Yay' from us.
Hope you enjoy your term of office. What good news to start the day, m'dear!

Afternoon Sunbeams,
Have decamped to the coffee bench, read all your comments & am smiling again that @Humdinger1 won her council seat.
Quite a productive day, but in a pottering around kind of a way, which tbh, I find often results in more getting done.
Anyway, today's vaguely money saving bits:
*Not quite a no-spend day as ordered a book for b-in-l's bday, but as Mr F also wanted a book, it meant we cleared the bar for free postage, so a small saving there.
*Continued hardening off tomato plants. 6 of these outdoor ones will go in quite a sheltered position so I am aiming to get them in place at some point this week. We do want a good crop now that I've discovered bottling.
*A little bit of free exercise weeding & forking over a front courtyard border & planting out cosmos, nemophilia 5-spot & a few larkspur, then trotting down to village post box to post my thank-you letters.
*Chatted through our diaries for the week ahead so we know what we're doing. Thankfully our car has more appointments than I do, so I'm hoping for a productive week of post-holiday catching up!
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Cut some wild garlic to add to tonight's wraps. Will also be using some homegrown lettuce & a pot of l/o sweetcorn.
*Did a laundry load to make use of good free drying weather.
*Started thinking of ways I can make an unused metal arch trellis on our back courtyard into an attractive feature without spending any money. Nothing will grow up it as too dark & shady. Think a bit of a hippyfied idea is starting to form.......will keep thinking.....but am determined it will not involve parting with any cash!
Well, I'm going to crack on with some sleeve knitting now. Didn't get any done last night. We ate later than usual, then I had a large gin & didn't trust myself not to knit a load of old stuff & nonsense!
Peace,
F x

Good to have you back after your holiday @foxgloves. Sounds like you had a great time and fab birthday.

Thanks, @Less_Talk_and_More_Action, I did have a lovely birthday & we both enjoyed our time away. I am very much looking at my entry into a new decade as a bit of a new start so my head is in a good place age-wise, I think.
