Lol, you are very tolerant of my verbosity!
Hello Monday Money Savers,
Haven't done quite as much as I intended today, but the budget-friendly bits are as follows:
*2 loads of laundry, one of them a 30 mins at 30 degrees + extra spin for less heated airer time.
*Did Monday morning budget updates.
*Ordered 1st fish box of the year, being mindful to pay on my CC so as to defer payment to Feb's budget.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & breakfast.
*Made dough for tonight's pizza base & a batch of rolls.
*Froze half the loaf left in bread tin to prevent it going stale before we get it eaten.
*Shopped a sympathy card from home from a gifted pack of nice blank cards which have been v useful.
*Sorted my salvage bag from Christmas Day. Have added to my wrappings stash 2 gift boxes, 2 pieces of tinsel, a decent selection of ribbons & raffia, 5 gift bags, wrapping paper (including some which is suitable for birthdays) & an A4 cardboard envelope. Also cut up one of those re-usable Christmas tablecloths which has sustained a large rip but was otherwise in good clean condition & added to stash for wrapping.
*Did a few surveys.
Have a good week, all.
F x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!10 -
I love your verbosity @foxgloves. Your commitment to action is very inspiring to me as I feel I am capable of that but the habit has formed the other way with me, so reading your posts as I unpick those habits and build new ones shows me that it is possible and patience in making small changes and taking consistent actions is so worth it.L x9

What a good idea about the re-usable tablecloth. I've got a reusable tartan table runner that's got a tear in the middle but I think I can chop it up into napkins - is it a napkin or a serviette? I'm sure there's some sort of definition of class/status depending on whether you have a napkin or a serviette or a square of kitchen roll 😉6

I cut squares of kitchen roll into halves for mealtimes, no-one needs a whole square. Very mse but I dread to think what social class I'm in 😂https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

In my head a napkin is fabric and a serviette is paper, no idea if this is correct. If anyone can enlighten me I would be grateful.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

That's my thinking too but don't know if that is right!Baileys_Babe said:In my head a napkin is fabric and a serviette is paper, no idea if this is correct. If anyone can enlighten me I would be grateful.5
