I think you very accurately summed up my coffee habit in a few words @foxgloves. I’m very impressed by all those who are talented in any crafts and that yarn looks wonderful. I am not at all capable in that direction.L7

What fabulous yarn, the cardi will look amazing.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Love the colours in the yarn. Bet it knits beautifully- especially as it’s done in one piece. A little bit of me can’t cope with the colour integrated yarns when they don’t match at the seams……I am coming around to it but I absolutely must have the cuffs the same colours 😂😂😂😂😂 I know……it’s one of my little foibles 😂😂😂😂January spends - £587.586

Oh how I wish my arthritis would let me knit! I'm trying to knit a cotton square to use as a dishcloth and even that I can only do a row and then have to stop.
In some ways crochet is easier as can just stop and start as my arthritis allows.6 -
I had a good flurry of surveys on Prolific too this afternoon which has bumped up earnings for December. I had to walk away in the end as other tasks were being neglected and I'm running a very strict "to do" list in the run up to Christmas.we have also reformed our coffee shop habits - I think that each visit didn't feel expensive but of course multiple visits each week add up as a sneaky hit to the budget. I don't drink coffee so I was spending money on a tea bag, pot of hot water and a splash of milk. not even the pleasure of a hissing, gurgling and frothing coffee machine creating a fantastic coffee concoction. during lockdown we bought flasks as most places were shut or outside places had massive queues and we now prefer to take our own tea and coffee to lovely outdoor spots and create our own pop up coffee shops.6

Some people recommend using bamboo needles rather than steel when you have arthritis. Also continental knitting does not put as much stress on your wrists - just a thought.6

I found I could crochet long before I could knit after my elbow/arm reconstruction. I could adjust the way I held the needle. I found having my arm out of action and not being able to do crafts more debilitating than when I was on crutches and couldn’t use my leg. I just didn’t know what to do to occupy myself.January spends - £587.586

Hi foxgloves, I have just watched UC and wondered if you watched it and whether you correctly answered the question about where Akenfield was set ?! It made me think of you
