Great to see you both back on the board, Arkers and marahouti.
I did finish June on 30/30 meaning Apr, May and June have been completely alcohol-free months (plus a week or so at the end of March). Just taking things a month at a time.
Can I please stick to 31 for July please cathybird, thank you v much.

I made a mistake declaring early and finished June on 13/10 not 14. Sorry to muck your lovely charts up. A heavy day with my sister and father and then I had wine after the drive home. Please can I aim for 15 in July instead to set the bar higher.4

Hi folks. I managed 26/24 in June.My usual 24 for July please cathybird. Thanks for your note cathybird. Sorry for not taking part in chats but had a very difficult month. I was so depressed end of May I started off June with a bottle of whiskey, managed with difficulty to spread it over 4 days, struggled not to drink it in two days. That was the last bottle left over from Mother's Day,and just as well because if there had been moreI would have drunk the lot after 18th June. The lady from the Memory Clinic came out t0 assess Mr Dusty's speech and go through her checklist of 100 dementia questions. She gave up after 10 questions the results were so back. He knew the day ,Tuesday ,because with prompting he knew it was the day we bring the bins in.40 years of doing that is obviously ingrained. But didnt know month or year.Could identify pictures, like book, crocodile.Said bird instead of penguin, couldnt name anchor but I pointed out to her that that might be because he didnt know English words. He did get 5/8 despite that. But when told to draw a large clockface and put in numbers he drew a tiny circle with only room for a dot in the middle.Maths was impossible. He couldnt do 100-7,even on paper. This from a man who was an accountant, got highest marks in the country on a national test before GCEs.Very poor attempt to draw a see through cube, but he has always been a terrible artist anyway, hard to guess what he is supposed to be drawing. Her assessment was that though he had some very early dementia signs, the stroke did bad brain damage, likely permanent since there was no improvement for months.Pretty much said be grateful for his physical health and that his meds can control his platelet issues, helping to avoid another stroke.Mr D was quite calm through it all,but when he couldnt remember our address he jumped up,clutching his head and was distressed he couldnt remember our address. The assessor gave up on the questions then,it was pointless to proceed, and he was upset.Sadly the verbal decline is continuing ever faster. He cant string a few words together anymore, and speaks his native language most of the time.He can still understand what I say and what is on the tv,but spech is now almost absent. We just have to keep on plodding. He is watching the football every day,was amazed at England actually winning!3
