After a hellish day on Saturday when Mr Dusty's cognitive state was very bad - he spent 6 hours just flicking the TV remote from channel to channel,not watching anything for more than a minute,and just not understanding how to use the remote,after he went to bed I sat down and drank half a bottle of port. I may have a port and lemon with a visitor if I have no whiskey,but I am not at all keen,and it is very bad for a diabetic anyway.

Glass of wine has about 1gram of sugar,port 15

Sitting there at 11pm knowing what I was doing to myself and still doing it depressed me greatly. Maybe it was because I have a really bad dose of cold,my immune system is rubbish. I have all the cold symptoms,plus an ear infection,which has led to vertigo,and some brain fog as well. All that plus the bad day watching Mr Dusty's decline just broke through the defenses I think.

Oh well,yesterday was a better day for Mr D. He watched football highlights,watched and enjoyed an old sitcom series in the afternoon,and enjoyed Africa Cup final last night. Sun is shining today,I think we both feel better when it does.

Good thing I finished off the port,nothing left to tempt,I will plod on. 5 birthdays betweem 22nd Feb and 6 Mar,and then Mother's Day is early this year.

Will try to reach my 22 AFD goal,we'llsee.Can but try.
