Giving Up/Cutting Down Alcohol Thread part 18

Sorry folks, I gave up on September as I had an overload of stress with family sickness (SIL, DIL, myself). I find stress really exhausts me, then I give up/give in and open the red wine.

I'm going to set a lowish target for October of 15, in an effort to get back on track.

I have to admit to giving up on September too.  For me it was work, dealing with other people's problems all day just got on top of me and I kept calling for a bottle of wine on the way home just in case I needed it. I actually have these ridiculous conversations in my head about how it will save me coming out later if I want a glass (there is no such thing in my world - its definitely a bottle or nothing). Anyhow, new month, new start and all that.  I'm quite motivated as I have been overpaying my mortgage for years to try and be mortgage free and have worked out that the end date will be in summer of next year.  I worry all the time that I am going to end up ill because of how much I drink and I keep imagining how awful it would be if I couldn't enjoy being mortgage free because of it.  So I'm going to keep reminding myself of this while I aim for 20 AFDs for October.

In great news, my SIL is coming home from hospital after 7 long weeks after surviving an op that apparently only has a 10% success-rate! Praise the Lord.
