It's 4/30 for me today and off to a good start however there are plans for the weekend that can't be dodged so that might be interesting 🤔

Hi people,and thanks for your kind good wishes on the 53rd wedding anniversary.It was a bit bedlam in the afternoon. We were to be picked up at 6.10 by DD1 and her partner. I decided to get ready early and just relax and take time with makeup etc. Just as well I got ready early because at 5pm GD3 turned up with the twins. Twin 2 saw the pile of easter eggs I had stacked up ready for DD1 to carry away and insisted on carrying his around the house. It was probably in small pieces when he got home

Then DS2 turned up with GD6,and the 3 holy terrors upended the toy box across the room. THEN DS1 turned up,returning from two days work in Scotland. Absolute bedlam,and DD1 turned up in the middle of it to take us out. Never did get makeup or jewellery on,but who cares. Everyone trooped out  to wave us off and to go off home,and we left all the toys heaped up on the floor. They are still there this morning,I'll sort it all out after breakfast

But it was an AFD after all,with just 4 of us at a table I wasnt tempted at all.

Happy anniversary dustydigger. 53 years is some achievement 👏. Well done on enjoying a 'dry' celebratory meal too. X
I see from my TryDry app that my current dry streak is 100 days. It isn't my longest streak (that was my 153 day Sober Summer last year) but I am particularly pleased because it includes my first dry NYE and dry birthday in my adult life. I have learned that I can enjoy significant occasions just as much without alcohol (more actually). It's just a shame it has taken me so long. When I think about some of my drink fuelled 'celebrations' in the past 😲.
Anyway enough of my wittering. Have a good day everyone. X
