Amazon are building a large fulfilment centre in a town near me and I would like to get a job in there - picker/packer etc, one of the busy,'simple', ones. I would only like to work 2-3 days a week so would be part-time. I have watched a number of videos, both Amazon and ones made by workers and it seems like an ideal job for me so please, no trying to dissuade me for whatever reasons you may have...
Think is, I am sure I won't be the only one trying to get a job there so don't want to miss the boat.
When I look online there are a million different 'agencies' and web-sites where you upload your CV etc but are any of these actually any good? If anyone here works for Amazon in the warehouses can you offer any advice as to how best to achieve my dream ;D

Have you tried a specific search for "Amazon (town) jobs"?

Yes, but the building has only just been approved so all that shows up are loads of agencies offering similar jobs and all asking for a cv etc. I have no way of knowing if any of them will actually be in a position to offer opportunities at Amazon.
I last applied for a job over 38 years ago so this is all a little new to me…Mortgage free!

They’re incredibly hard work these jobs so are you sure it would suit you? If you haven’t applied for a job in 38 years would imply you’re in the later stages of your career. Also your username asort of indicates you may not be the most athletic person.Have you thought about something like tesco delivery driver? They recruit a lot from the more mature community.0

My husband worked for them and I'm on a Facebook page for the centre and they mess people around so much. You are on your feet for 12 hours a day..hardly any time to eat by the time you get to the canteen and you are target based work and always being let go hanging over you..
My husband applied directly via the Amazon websiteMortgage free wannabe

When they opened one near me, they started advertising closer to the time of opening. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

What about signing up to somewhere like Indeed? This is their current amazon job list -
https://uk.indeed.com/Amazon-Warehouse-jobs?vjk=917b5783d7ff7120
Also, Linked In keeps you up to date with jobs that suit your CV and job history.
You just need to submit your CV to each - but whatever job you do decide to go for you'll need to submit a CV.
As elsien says above, they will probably start advertising nearer to the date of opening - but it doesn't hurt to be very prepared - whipping your CV into shape is a really good place to start.
Not wanting to be a wet lettuce leaf but I know someone who worked there and conditions were very poor, as Sncjw has reported. Working for the billionaires who own amazon made him ill and he had to leave in the end. He's now in a call centre with a great contract and is really enjoying it (although it isn't everyone's cup of tea, I know).
Good luck with your application. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Amazon, and places like it, generally suck. The money looks good for the type of work but workers are generally treated very poorly and the staff turnover is ridiculously high.

Edit: Just read that you don't like interacting with people so healthcare wouldn't be a good fit for you. I've always had in my mind that for people that don't like interacting HGV drivers are a good fit. There is a national shortage of them, sure you need to train but you get a lifestyle by yourself and if media reports are to be believed a salary of 50K+1
