The last day of 2022 already, time really does fly by, it's quite extraordinary.Yesterday the rain hammered down. Overnight the rain hammered down. Roads and some railway lines are flooded and the fields here are swamped. Perhaps today will be dry? 😂
My main plan today has me going to the tip with the large amount of recycling stuff which is threatening to overwhelm my tiny utility room. The centre doesn't open until 11am so I can linger under my duvet a bit longer.I'll come back later, for now I hope that everyone is doing well, especially those confined to then poorly ward. Happy Saturday to all.10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. I'm one of those that's been confined to the poorly ward and would be feeling marginally better this morning if it wasn't for this hacking cough dragging me down and wearing me out. It doesn't know when to let go. . From what I have read or heard this seems to be the worst symptom of the bug that's doing the rounds just now. Meanwhile, keep taking the medicine!
Nothing to "talk" about as my life recently has consisted of bed and sofa but I am hopeful that normal service may resume soon. Happy New Year to all of you and I hope there are better times ahead for us all. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning all and thanks for the thread @Gers xx
Sorry to hear you've been poorly @TravellingAbuela - lots of it about including my Mum who has been sofa-bound for a few days. We are popping in to see her today as she didn't sign one page of the POA (the bit saying about turning off life support!). I have a sore, gluey throat and annoying cough which saw me get up at 5.55am today as I needed a hot drink.
FC this morning and I reckon I've put on about 4lbs! It's all okay though as I will get that off once I'm back in my eating routine. I only had one chocolate yesterday and left the others to it. Still a mountain of cheese but some of it is in truckles, so will last a fair while. Thanks for the Lidl tips - I may well go today if I have time.
We are at friends tonight and they are cooking a chilli. I may drive depending how I feel. Would save alcohol calories and mean we don't have to walk the 1mile home. Will decide later.
Get well wishes to all the poorlies and a happy new year to you all xx

Morning All
It's stopped raining! Not for long though I don't think, more due today. After my trip to the airport yesterday I didn't go out at all, everywhere was flooded and I didn't need anything.
Christmas has been packed back in it's boxes, just the a few kitchen items to put away now. My visitors stripped the bed so that's all washed, dried and ironed. My bedding is in the WM at the moment so that can hang about on the airer today and can go in the living room overnight, should dry by the heat of the fire.
One of my neighbours came over for a coffee yesterday afternoon, we had a good chat and are going for a dip in the loch this morning, it'll be mighty cold!
Sorry you've not been well TA, hope you feel better soon. DD has had the same thing and 10 days on is still not completely well and has the worst cough I've ever heard.
Keep taking the medicine Mehefin!
Enjoy your night out Coxy, hope you too feel better.
How are you getting on Ruby?
May go for a wander this afternoon to get some fresh veg, apart from that it'll be more sofa sitting and TV watching!
Have a good day and a great night if you're celebrating. Take care. XX9 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. You'll be building an ark soon if that rain doesn't stop.Glad to see you back TA, I'm sorry you aren't well. Coughing is so tiring isn't it - hope it eases off soon.Sorry to read that you've got a bad throat Coxy, so painful isn't it.Another year practically gone, like Gers, I can hardly believe how it's slipped away.Hoping that 2024 will be better for everyone, Happy New Year to you all.Take care folks.10

Coxy Hoping you feel better too

Hugs to all our poorlies I hope that the New Year brings us all Health ,Wealth and Happiness xxSlava Ukraini9 -
Hi everyone,
Get well wishes for TA, Mehefin, Coxy's mum and anyone else suffering atm.
We are alone, L,B and the littlies have gone off to Yorkshire so today will be a scrum to tidy and clean before we have guests tonight. They won't be staying so will only need to do the downstairs thankfully.
We have to take the car in to get the dashcam removed so that it can be fitted in the new car next week, I wouldn't be without one now after the accident earlier this year, it proved that I wasn't at fault and allowed us to trace the culprit who had driven off.
We ate leftover biriani last night, tonight will be stir fry and tomorrow S and K pie made with some filling I have in the freezer. I want things to be simple and frugal while the family are away (and I want to try emptying the freezer, yet again).
Have a good day.10 -
Morning everyone Coxy I know how you feel my weigh in is not until Tuesday I think they might have to reinforce the scales but what’s done is done and I’m on a mission to get this off hope your throat is better soon scarlet hope you are feeling a bit better today there is a lot of people poorly lately. Snoozer someone reversed into my friend and drove off they did a lot of damage she said the same wouldn’t be without her dash cam now it helped her the same way as you. I have enough food in the freezer to feed an army so it will be only fresh that’s bought in here for the next few weeks so that should save me some money I’ve got to get these savings built up and I want to put something away every week to go towards logs and coal next year as that has been an expensive do to build those up . It’s raining here not meant to get any better I’ve got plenty of jobs I can be getting on with so I think I will be in except for dog walks until I’m back to work Tuesday.thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them and a happy and healthy new year to everyone8

Morning all; raining yet again
Bit of a late start today as I had a Pimms last night so didn't get going very early this morning. It doesn't take much these days! Also made a butter chicken curry for dinner and the downstairs is still smelling of it this morning.
We had a look at replacement holdalls/suitcases yesterday and then ended up having to measure the boot of DH's car to check sizes. Still looking, as I think the bigger ones will be heavy to lift when full, and DH does like to take the kitchen sink with him
Other than that a pottering day is planned and then we're out walking with friends tomorrow.
HNY everyone and hope 2023 is kind to you all.8 -
Morning all, still damp, misty and drizzly. Yesterday DH set to work on the washer with DS & put some new shock thingies on to no avail- shame as they only cost him £15 from a spares place down the road. We put a bit of a wash on and waited for the spin & it was still clattering so we stopped it. Tried again reducing the speed from 1400 to 400, better but not getting enough water out, so unsure what to do next. If we call someone out and they can't sort it , that money could have gone towards a new one. It'll be a quiet one for us tonight trying to keep a 10st. mastiff calm if there are a lot of fireworks
I think DS is going out with DS2 and pals for a curry but they both seemed a bit unenthusiastic yesterday
Last night for tea we just had cheese, pate and some buffet type stuff as DH had got a fish/chip lunch when I got back from town. He also saved some chips from that and reheated in the airfryer - said they were better than straight from the chippySorry lots of you still coughing, me too, and I started with it on the 4th Dec, as I remember coughing in church at the christening for DGN, then got the sore throat etc.Nice to see you post Florence, well done on your work with SA.I'm hoping next year will be better for us all! Take care x
