Yes, this sort of tent is not very good on the wind, they really tend to lack any sort of stability

I bought this tent from edirectory at the beginning of the year (6 berth version but identical in every other respect) when it was around £45 and have spent a total of 6 nights in it. When put up correctly it is solid. We camped on a site practically on the beach in wales and the wind one day was almost like being in a hurricane...The tent stayed up no problem, however, I boght some 'proper' thick tent pegs to keep it pegged down with, I spent about £2.50 on decent pegs otherwise the standard pegs would not have been enough, but this could be said for a number of tents on the market.

It is certainly worth around the £70-£80 mark, but not much more, the claims that the tent is reduced from over £400 are obviously a marketing ploy.

At first looks, yes, the tent seems flimsy but it is actually not a bad tent, and we (other half and a 9 year old)are going away in it again for 3 days August bank holiday.

Stay clear of this company. There customer service is appalling. I ordered a tent from them and they sent the wrong one....... That was 2 months ago! Since then they have sent another identical tent to the first one to me. Anytime you phone the customer helpline you are put on hold for ages and then no one seems able to help you. I am not complaining too much as i now have 2 tents.... one of which i will sell to someone else. Incidentally does anyone recall how long i have to wait before i am legally allowed to dispose of these items? I have notified the company via e-mail several times of the problem with no response. Technically they have sent me a product i never ordered.

    Ricardo,
I believe I am correct in stating:
3 months if you have informed them and they choose to ignore you or just don't collect them.
6 months if you keep quiet and wait for them to notice their error.
This is for goods thy have supplied in error or you have not ordered.
    Keep Smiling

I've just bought one so I won't have any idea if they're any good or not until it arrives but their returns policy looks ok.
  • A bivvy can be quite basic. Its anything to keep the elements off usually made of staves, moss and ferns as a lean to. Or can be man made such as a tarp sheet tied between trees or a bivvy bag (big bin liner) you put your sleeping bag into.
