Hi sorry to bother you I am due to inherit a lump some of money from my dads estate this will go into a current account I have checked the gov site and really confused I currently get working tax and child tax credit do I have to declare this money as some sites say yes others say no as capital not income I really want to make sure I get this right and will I loose these payments

For tax credits you don't have to declare capital, only if that capital generates £300 interest per year (I think it's £300) would you see any deduction from tax credits.
