Hotel Fire Safety

I've just had a few days on holiday in the UK. I was shocked and surprised to find missing fire extinguishers (the signs and mountings were there but no extinguisher) and fire doors propped open with door wedges.
When you've dropped your case/bag in your room, make sure you check the door for your fire exit route. There should be a floor plan indicating your exit route. Follow the green exit signs but NEVER use the lift if the fire alarm sounds.
Report any fire regulation violations you spot at reception........things like missing fire extinguishers and door wedges keeping fire exit doors open.
Consider taking a small torch and a smoke detector with you on your travels, especially for hotels in foreign locations. Be safe on your travels.
