Pip reassessment and pip new year monthly payment.

Hi

I am due a reassessment of my pip claim, I sent my form back on October 4 had text four days later saying they had received it.

Yesterday December 29 had text saying they were saying looking into it and they would continue to pay benefit, that's three months are they really that far behind.

I got monthly pip payment today which wasn't due till Tuesday, I thought that it woudblt be paid till then, I'm not moaning I'm happy, but just to let others know on pip if you were due on Tuesday you may have got your money today

For those living in Scotland if your payment is due on 3rd January, you will receive payment today. PIP is also paid 4 weekly, not monthly.

New claims are being prioritised over reassessments. It may be many more months before your reassessment is decided (and you may need an assessment before a decision is made, most do).
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Ah I see. I don't mind about having an assesment I have plenty of evidence, discharge letters  consultant info etc.
I guess they are trying to get the numbers down following on from our friendly chancellors speech who wants as many people of benefits people as he can. I'm afraid the majority of people on pip are there for a reason they are unable to work because of their condition.  I would love to be able to work Mr chancellor!

Why didn’t you send that back with the form? Any assessment is likely to be phone and even at a face to face the assessment is not the best time to introduce evidence.

The criteria for PIP have not changed but there has been a huge rise in the number of claims which is causing delays.

I photocopied 15 pages of different information, consultant letters  but mostly hospital discharge letters, with the form I sent in October, last time I went for a reassessment I was in there for 5 minutes, it was a total waste of time. They just went through the info I provided asked me half a dozen questions and it was done, gave me a two year period if I remember rightly.

Hi just had mine renewed last month which was a full 12 months after it was due though as people have said dates were extended so that payments could continue to be made in the interim
