Next day delivery refund

Hi, I ordered an item from House of Fraser and paid £9.99 for next day delivery. Evri advised on day delivery due that it was delayed and I received 2 days later. Have contacted House of Fraser requesting refund of delivery charge as next day service wasn’t provided. They’re saying they can only give a partial refund (not saying how much) as delivery charge paid to a third party service provider. I’ve previously done same with other retailers with no hassle. Can House of Fraser do this? TIA

Comments

  • In short, yes. Their offer of a partial refund is reasonable. It will probably reflect the difference between normal, and next day delivery.

How much HOF paid for the service is irrelevant.

You're entitled to a refund as Aylesbury_Duck says, of the difference between standard and express delivery. Even if there is 'free delivery' below your spend they can factor in the standard.

e.g. if standard delivery is £3.95 and you paid £9.99 then they should refund £6.04.
