Best way to refund on ebay???

I have buyer who pulled out after payment. Which as much I don't want to, I don't want the hassle. 

What is the best method for refund???

Stright refund or ask buyer to open item not recieved??? What is the difference???

    Can't you just cancel it?

    Yes try cancelling the sale with the reason the buyer no longer wants the item that way they will get the 'blame' not you

    This is the correct and easiest option. Make sure you choose the ‘buyer requested’ option as you get your FVFs back , less 30p handling fee. Remember as well to block the buyer, we don’t need this type of indecisive buyer.

    BIN on 13dec, wanted in time for Xmas, I bought postage online, but as RM was on strike 14 15 dec, I was going to hand it over on the Friday for tracked 24. He message wanted to cancel as he bought one in store.

    Can't be bother with hassle, but he was somewhat patient as I needed to wait for the RM refund on postage, only landed this week.
