UPVC Door lock issue

Hi all,
Hoping someone may be able to help.
Just moved into a property which has UPVC doors, the front door is a bit of a pain to lock and unlock, you have to really pull the handle up hard for the key to turn. If you just do it normally, it feels like the key could snap (it will work, but has a lot of resistance)
We’ve replaced the euro cylinder and it’s made no difference, it feels like something in the door latch mechanism itself is not fully engaging unless I hold the handle up tight whilst turning the key.
Not ideal with hands full of shopping so hoping for an easy fix! Anyone had similar? Just thought I’d ask before calling out a window/door company.

could be the springs in the handle. Try swapping from another door to check maybe- usually just 2 bolts to remove/refit0

what is it like when you lift the handle and turn the key when its open ? if it works well take off the keepers one at a time and try as you go . replace as you go then . door could need toe n heeling . YouTube it . hinges may need adjusting (youtube)normally 4mm allen key . oil the mech too .

I had something like you describe on my pvc front door. It felt like the key turn was actually hitting something hard, even when I'd lifted the handle strongly. I sprayed silicon spray liberally on the cylinder and around every moving part I could see, as I raised and lowered the handle. Worked a treat.1

Maybe hinges need a small adjustment due to cold weather, may need adjusting again in summer

Probably go with a small hinge adjustment being required. Had much the same thing with my front door. I had to really yank the door handle up in order to get the sliding locks to engage, otherwise you couldn't turn the key. After the adjustment I can now raise the handle up with minimal pressure (one finger) and the key turns smoothly.

If you are having to yank on the handle to get the door to lock, there is a good chance that the gearbox will eventually break. These can get expensive to replace, especially if it is an old/obsolete one.. If you are not confident is adjusting the hinges, get a window/door doctor to have a look.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
