How do I get Scottish Power to stop sending bills that aren't mine?

I do that all the time with debt letters and all sorts.I have had bailiffs turn up twice in August, one from a private company and one from the high court. Both times I provided ID and told them this person doesn't live here and the bailiffs left without issue.
so if the bailiffs turn up at the door again with an invalid warrant thats stressful and maybe embarrassing. but also the risk if the op isnt there to show id or challenge they force entry. not likely but i can see why it might be a worry and reason to want it sorted not just ignore. and in more general the poor customer service to get this sorted. especially given they can see there is an active account at that address for the op. its not like they changed supplier or whatever. they can see a differnt person is living there any paying bills.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -
The problem is the previous tenant ran up a large debt which should have meant a force fitted prepayment meter.
I used to go out on a few occasions working for British Gas to ask many questions with the present tenant to try and establish if the present tenant had merely passed on the tenancy to another tenant to avoid paying for the debt. It does happen .
S.P s next move may well be a force fitted prepayment meter with the debt loaded on the meter if it's not resolved so I would advise the OP to email S.P with a copy of the tenancy agreement which tallies with what you have told SP...
It does nt matter if they have not asked for it but if you provide it it will probably end the problem with some evidence which may help to prove no contact with the debtor0
