I own a top floor tenement flat in North East Scotland and the roof is leaking.  After dozens of calls I managed to get a roofer out to take a look who has subsequently provided me with a quote.

1. Knock out both front and both rear main and chimney skews including picking tablings then prime fill allowing to set before
2. Applying top coat of mortar and flush rubbing tablings to finish
3. Redo chimney haunchings
4. Look over roof and replace any badly damaged or missing slates required

5 years warranty with cement skews

£2,750

The other owners want to get more quotes but I'm struggling to get most of the roofers in the area to even return my calls (I realise it is Christmas but I mean before this.) never mind come out and take a look.

Just wanted to say you have my sympathy, both for trying to get roofers and also to come up with a quote 6 people will agree with.

Does the quote included scaffolding? If so, it might be quite reasonable as I know scaffolding is extremely expensive (but I have no real knowledge)

Thank you @Skibunny40.  That doesn't include scaffolding as muggins here is already paying for the scaffolding to replace the flat roof which as a dormer extension is solely my responsibility.  It does include VAT though.
