How long to wait for court to issue CCJ (money claim)?

38 Posts

Hi, not sure if this is the right subforum, but it concerns my recent debacle with Wowcher.
I started a small claim against them for misrepresentation, misselling me services, not as described, etc. Their deadline to respond to the claim was 21 November. However, they ignored the claim, and at the end of November I filed a request for a CCJ. I've not heard anything since then. No idea whether they filed a request for more time, or put in a defence, or anything. Is this sort of delay normal? Does the courts service use recorded/special delivery? Would the court write to me to let me know if my application for a CCJ has been rejected? The online claims system says "Please do not call the Court and Tribunal Service Centre (CTSC) about the progress of your request. Your online account will not be updated with the progress of this claim and any further updates will be by post." And: "If a postal response is received before the judgment is issued your request will be rejected."
So I'm completely in the dark here.
Thanks
