I currently have a 5kw multifuel stove. It struggles to get my open-plan living room and adjoining dining room warm.
I have the option of knocking through the wall and feeding the dining room as well via a double-sided stove. I remember hearing great things about Clock stoves and I've been looking at their double-sided model.
Anyone on here have one or can recommend another double-sided model?

cant comment on the clock stoves, but something to bear in mind is anything above 5kw needs its own air supply so depending where stove is might make it tricky to fit1

I am surprised a 5kw is not big enough. We had a 5kw to heat a 8.5M by 6M room with a high vaulted ceiling plus we would open the doors to heat the bedrooms off it.
But we built the house ourselves and used lots of good insulation in walls, ceiling and floor.
So how about improving your insulation as that would be cheaper in the long run?0 -

Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
I don't have the best-insulated house, unfortunately. Downstairs is open plan and very difficult to close off the space, with an uninsulated suspended floor, two sets of patio doors, three windows and some solid walls (no cavity).
I plan to externally insulate, but that's a few years away.
My current 5kw burner doesn't seem to heat the room particularly well. I can only assume it's functioning properly (I've had the chimney swept). Getting a double-sided stove and heating the dining room at the same time, seems an obvious choice and the easiest one to rectify at present. I'd like to insulate the floor but that means ripping up an engineered oak and tiled floor with wet underfloor heating. It's caused me great distress to find that the UFH supplier laid the pipes on an unisulated floor0
