I'm in the US so they are a low cost Vanguard US stock market and a Global equity fund that excludes the US. In the UK I could use Vanguard UK's Global All Cap Equity Index Fund which would give US and rest of world stocks and then might want to add a UK fund like Vanguard FTSE UK All Share Index fund. But my situation won't be the same as yours and so one of the Vanguard LifeStrategy funds (or similar funds from other vendors) might suit you better. There really is nothing to be gain in most situations and for most people by making things more complicated that they need to be...stay out of debt, save some money to the bank for emergencies and use a LifeStrategy fund in your pension and ISA to grow your money, you don't need more than one LS fund.Nardy said:bostonerimus said:I'd invest 10k in the same places no matter what the month or year, split between a low cost global equity index fund and a US equity index fund...K.I.S.S.Which funds?“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”1 -

Thanks for that. I'm already invested in Vanguard Lifestrategy funds. While I like your pragmatic approach, there is the nagging thought in the back of my mind that there might be something out there that I am missing, so I had to ask.

Ah yes, ignore that FOMO feeling. For 99% of people there is no quick route to wealth and with VLS funds you have a diverse portfolio. Just keep saving and investing and you will do just fine. FYI the simple, slow and steady approach allowed me to retire at age 53 and never have to worry about money again.Nardy said:bostonerimus said:
