eBay GSP Seller confusion

Options
So, I've avoided as much as possible sending items abroad, as it's such a hassle with Customs forms, INRs etc. However, I've bit the bullet and put on a few items worth c. £100 with GSP, simply because it opens up a wider Market. However, I'm struggling to get my head round the postage bit to deliver the item to the Shipping Centre. Obviously, the Buyer isn't going to want to take a double hit and pay for 2 lots of postage. Is it a case of sucking it up and taking a £2.85 (Tracked 48 up to £100 cover) hit to get the parcel to the Shipping Centre ?

I’m not sure what you mean? If something sells on GSP you just use the stated postage method stated in the listing, so if that was £2.85 for RM48 then you use that and that’s what you get. EBay then take a seperate payment, which you don’t see for the onward payment.

The best way for a newcomer to consider the GSP is to just imagine you are actually selling your item to eBay in the UK.

You post your item to eBay at a UK address using a UK postal service you specified, just as you would have done to any other UK customer.

eBay then take all responsibility for forwarding on the package to its international desitnation, and they arrange all the necessary international shipping and customs charges directly with the buyer.
    • The rich buy assets.
    • The poor only have expenses.
    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

  • And the best bit about GSP is that once it gets to ebay your responsibility is over so if it doesn't get to the intended recipient then that's ebay's problem
