Problems trying to apply for electricity export payment

Hi All

I have recently had a solar heating system installed and I am trying to set up export payments with my supplier (currently Bulb)
However when I try and set it up I keep getting the following message:

"We can't sign you up for Export Payments right now

There's a problem with the national meter database, so you can't apply for Export Payments right now.

Please try again later."

I have contacted Bulb and they said that is is usually because the MCS number has been entered incorrectly but I have been entering it correctly. I got the number from my certificate so it should be correct.

Has anyone else experienced this? It has been going on for well over a week now.

Possibly to do with the transfer from Bulb to Octopus, which has just completed? Bulb has been pretty much dysfunctional since it went into special measures. Things may now improve under Octopus management.

You don't have to apply to your own provider for export payments.  Maybe you should apply directly to Octopus, who seem to offer far and away the best rates?  As of today/yesterday (?) Octopus completed the takeove of Bulb anyway.
